Wested day
On the day of the tour, nobody picked up and we had a wasted day. The tour company said it had not heard from Viator. I will never use Viator again.
Response from the operator: sorry for the inconvenience, hopefully you get the full refund.?

Incredible views, great service!
I found the visit to Dambulla Cave Temple somewhat underwhelming, and the repeated attempts to squeeze rupees out of us tourists irritating and tainted the visit. Appreciate that money is needed to maintain a historic site like this, but I'd rather pay more on the door and be left alone inside! Sigiriya Rock did not disappoint, however. The climb is challenging - especially if you suffer from even mild vertigo - but the scenery is truly breathtaking, even before you reach the summit. Word of advice - make sure you bring a hat or a brolley - the sun was punishing on my climb and there’s not a lot of shade once you get going. Also - a shout out to my driver, Anthony who was excellent (as was the transport). Thank you, I had a terrific day.

It you only have 1 day to visit, this must be the choice.

So happy I got the chance to visit...

So happy I got the chance to visit Sri Lanka: a beautiful small country with warm and welcoming people. Both Sigiriya rock and Dambulla Temple are must sees. From the capital, took us about 4h to reach Sigiriya by private deluxe mini-van. The history around Sigiriya is quite nice and the views are breathtaking. So are the more than 1000 steps to climb up to the top... All worth to see the view and the paintings in the caves.
Dambulla temple is also a place not to be missed. The statues, the temples beneath the rocks, the monkeys...
Our driver Mohammed did his best to drive us safely and comfortably in the long itinerary from Colombo. The guide in Sigiriya was also very knowledgeable and patient. 10 out of 10.

Private Sigiriya and Dambulla Day Trip, All-Inclusive: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Colombo.
How much does Private Sigiriya and Dambulla Day Trip, All-Inclusive cost?
+
Prices start at $170 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Colombo usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Sigiriya and Dambulla Day Trip, All-Inclusive take?
+
Plan for about 12 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Colombo is not rushed.
Is Private Sigiriya and Dambulla Day Trip, All-Inclusive worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 60 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.5/5 across 13 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Colombo, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Sigiriya and Dambulla Day Trip, All-Inclusive?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Sigiriya and Dambulla Day Trip, All-Inclusive suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 12-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Sigiriya and Dambulla Day Trip, All-Inclusive?
+
Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Colombo can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Colombo and add a light layer if any part of the 12-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Sigiriya and Dambulla Day Trip, All-Inclusive start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Colombo within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Colombo?
+
On Outty we rank every Colombo experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Flexi dates on all 5 to 7 days packages for car and English speaking driver, Sri Lanka Personal Tour Driver in private vehicle, Private Multi Day Sri Lanka Tour with Chauffeur. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Colombo?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Colombo?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
