Stunning trip to Porto!
We took a private tour to Porto with David, and this was one of the most enjoyable tourism experiences we’ve ever had! The Porto / Vila Nova de Gaia area is absolutely stunning, with so much to see and do. We could have easily spent multiple days there, but due to our scheduling we had to pack as much as we could into just one day. David is the ultimate professional that we all hope to meet when we sign up for tours. He was extremely personable and knowledgeable, and he provided many helpful tips for us, ensuring that we had the best possible time and that we were able to see all the places we wanted to go. Thank you, David, for a wonderful trip!
Response from the operator: Dear Teri, Thank you for your amazing review of our Porto tour. You are right about how beautiful Porto and Gaia are. Totally worth going there even if it is just for a full day. For people that don't have much time in Portugal, this is an ideal way to waste no time and see all the good things about Porto. Hope you enjoyed the dinner before returning to Cascais! Best Regards, David Monteiro

Wonderful Time In Porto.
Pedro was an amazing tour guide. He caters the tour to your pace, and interests. He also makes great suggestions of things to see, and every one of them were great decisions. Pedro also throws in a couple of surprises along the way which add to the overall experience. The drive to Porto is approximately 3 1/2 hours each way, but Pedro makes the time go by seamlessly.
Response from the operator: Dear Yony, Thank you very much for your review of the Porto tour with Pedro. You are absolutely right that all of us cater to our clients the best way possible to make their experience worth it. I know Pedro also took you to another town on the way that you wanted to see and that's what made the drive longer because usually it takes around 3 hours each way but as you said the time goes by seamlessly. Hope you enjoyed your time with us and remember us when you come back or have anyone you know coming here. Best Regards, David Monteiro

Wonderful Porto
Porto is a beautiful must see city in Portugal. Most efficient way to see this place from Lisbon is by a private tour. David did not disappoint us. He arrived on time at our Lisbon hotel and was able to sit our family of 4 comfortably in his nice clean van. Take note that we had big luggages. He didn’t mind passing by Fatima as we randomly requested along the way. It was not originally part of the itinerary. He showed us the highlights of Porto along with great areas where only locals know. He took us to the best local restaurants too. Our family stayed overnight in Porto. David picked us on time again from our Porto hotel the following day before heading to Douro valley. He took care of our family very well until drop off to our hotel close to Lisboa airport where we departed back to USA the following morning. It was a concierge service for a reasonable price.
Response from the operator: Dear Lorelei, Thank you very much for your review of our few days of tours around Portugal. It was a pleasure taking you, Owen, Sam and JP from North to South, also covering the Northeast with the Douro Valley tour. You are the kind of people that make me love what I do. Everyone accepted my suggestions of places to eat, what to see, etc, which allowed me to tailor the best local experience possible. Thank you for that. Looking forward to seeing you back here as a tourist or resident. Best Regards, David Monteiro

Phenomenal Multi-Day Trip to Porto, Douro Valley
HIGHLY RECOMMEND! David is incredibly talented and kind - his knowledge of Portuguese culture and history runs very deep and more importantly, he is hilarious, friendly, and altruistic. I traveled with my mother and brother with David to Porto from Lisbon (making stops in Obidos and Nazare) and through the Douro Valley. David’s English was so good that I initially thought he was American, despite the fact that he was raised in the Lisbon area and in reality is just very gifted with languages (he speaks five of them). There was never a dull moment - we had so much fun with David. Thank you David - you were the best guide to the beautiful country of Portugal we could have asked for! Looking forward to staying in touch my friend.
Response from the operator: Dear Andrew, Thank you very much for the review of our few days together. Loved meeting you, your brother Patrick and your mother Sheila. Thank you for your kind words about my language skills :D you only needed english though! There was never a dull moment thanks to all of you too. I had a lot of fun taking you around. Thank you again! Best Regards, David Monteiro

Easy day trip
David and Daniel were very easy to work with and organized and prompt. It was an easy drive to Porto in a very comfortable van with Wifi and weather provided. We enjoyed our day and their assistance.
Response from the operator: Dear Stuart, Thank you for your review of our Porto tour. Me and Daniel had a great time with you and your family and I am glad he was there to help me on that day because of all the construction going on. I believe you meant "water" instead of "weather" and yes, we do provide waters and wi-fi to our clients whenever they need it. Hope to see you coming back for more tours with us. Best Regards, David Monteiro

Why this scores 79
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private Porto Day Trip from Lisbon with Local Guide: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Lisbon.
How much does Private Porto Day Trip from Lisbon with Local Guide cost?
+
Prices start at $120 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Lisbon usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Porto Day Trip from Lisbon with Local Guide take?
+
Plan for about 12 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Lisbon is not rushed.
Is Private Porto Day Trip from Lisbon with Local Guide worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 79 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 47 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Lisbon, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Porto Day Trip from Lisbon with Local Guide?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Porto Day Trip from Lisbon with Local Guide suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 12-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Porto Day Trip from Lisbon with Local Guide?
+
Around 16 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Lisbon can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Lisbon and add a light layer if any part of the 12-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Porto Day Trip from Lisbon with Local Guide start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Lisbon within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Lisbon?
+
On Outty we rank every Lisbon experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Lisbon City Center Tour - The Unmissable Lisbon, Sintra Private Trip from Lisbon Customizable Dreamlike Experience, True 4Hour Private Tuk Tuk Tour: Discover Lisbon with a Local!. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Lisbon?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Lisbon?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
