How to see a lot of Sintra in the most comfortable way.
Sintra is a tricky place to visit due to the distances and restrictions one has to take into account. Nevertheless it is also an absolute highlight for anybody interested in sightseeing - absolutely worth it. I am happy we booked a private tour with our tour guide Marta. She is very organized and knows the place like the inside of her pocket. Also her explanations during the visit really helped us to put all the sighty into perspective. Having visited Monsteiro do Batalha, Cohimbra and Tomar before Lisbon gave us a great context of history and art. We were able to see Sintra and had time for a nice lunch by the sea. We also made a quick dash to Cabo do Roca. We would have never been able able to do all that in a day by ourselves. With the help of Marta however, it was possible - and a very enjoyable experience! Absolutely recommend!

Perfect day in Sintra
We had an amazing day with Jimena. She gave us interesting and useful information about Sintra and guided us well at the Pena Palace and Quinta da Regaleira. We felt quite spoiled as we went past other people in line. Everything was well organized and communication was very good. Jimena was very friendly and asked us what our preferences were being honest about options but not pushy in any way. She recommended a delicious lunch spot on the coast and the best pastries we had in Sintra center. Definitely book this tour. You will not be disappointed as Picta Travel knows what they are doing. Ask for Jimena if you can, especially if you are from the US.

Sintra - Pena Palace and Quinta da Regaleira
Our tour guide, Marta, picked us up at the hotel, she arrived punctually and then drove us up the mountain to Sintra. Marta was so well informed and professional, she spent the whole day letting us know the history and information about the sites and general surrounding area. We started at Quinta da Regaleira, which is very interesting and the well is unbelievable. The next stop was lunch by the coast at a lovely restaurant. Our final stop was Pena Palace, again such an unbelievable place, perched at the top of the mountain. We could have not asked for a better tour guide, Marta was considerate of our comfort, especially walking the slopes and steps. We did not realize that the climate would be so different to Lisbon. We were up in the clouds, mist and rain, Marta to the rescue with umbrellas. It was a great day out and I would highly recommend this tour.

Wonderful experience
Wonderful tour covering all major landmarks. Our guide Maya had extensive knowledge of history, languages and culture. Lunch was at a charming seaside restaurant and the food was good. Highly recommend.

Stress-Free Memorable Day in Sintra
My wife and I were new to Portugal and wanted to experience a stress free day trip to Sintra. We booked a private tour and allowed the tour operator to do all the planning. Francisco picked us from our hotel in the morning promptly at 9am. From there, he took over and we were off. First, he drove us to a cozy cafe where we sampled a few local pastries with coffee. Next, we visited Pena Palace with fast track tickets (well worth the extra cost to avoid the extremely long line). Francisco was extremely knowledgeable about the history and local culture and provided many fascinating facts along the visit. Then he drove us to lunch at a restaurant overlooking the ocean. After lunch, we traveled to the center of Sintra where he gave us a tour of the village. We then went to Quinta de Regaleira where again, he took us another informative guided tour of the palace. After a long day that went well over the alloted 8 hours, we were conveniently dropped off at our hotel. Throughout this experience, Francisco was our chauffeur, tour guide, history teacher, and friend. Thanks to him, we will always have fond memories of our day in Sintra. Yes the tour was on the expensive side but worth every penny.

Why this scores 96
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Sintra Private Trip from Lisbon Customizable Dreamlike Experience: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Lisbon.
How much does Sintra Private Trip from Lisbon Customizable Dreamlike Experience cost?
+
Prices start at $50 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Lisbon usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Sintra Private Trip from Lisbon Customizable Dreamlike Experience take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Lisbon is not rushed.
Is Sintra Private Trip from Lisbon Customizable Dreamlike Experience worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 96 out of 100, which we label "Peak Performance". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 1,901 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Lisbon, and how flexible the cancellation terms are. Scoring 90 or above puts it in the Outty 90+ Club, the top tier of everything we rank.
Can I cancel or reschedule Sintra Private Trip from Lisbon Customizable Dreamlike Experience?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Sintra Private Trip from Lisbon Customizable Dreamlike Experience suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Sintra Private Trip from Lisbon Customizable Dreamlike Experience?
+
Around 665 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Lisbon can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Lisbon and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Sintra Private Trip from Lisbon Customizable Dreamlike Experience start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Lisbon within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Lisbon?
+
On Outty we rank every Lisbon experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Lisbon City Center Tour - The Unmissable Lisbon, True 4Hour Private Tuk Tuk Tour: Discover Lisbon with a Local!, Escape Hunt Experience. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Lisbon?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Lisbon?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
