    Pompei scam

We booked for a family of 5, no guide came. We waited 1 hour, the phone numbers are inactive and the website number is American and does not answer. Do not book; it is a gigantic scam.

Response from the operator: My apologies but this reservation was not made on Viator. A credit is being issued for this booking made on our website.

The best way to experience Pompeii- right from booking to drop off - amazing.

We had a great day with our tour guide Anna and our driver Luigi their knowledge of not only Pompeii but the whole area is outstanding. We combined the Pompeii experience with an Amalfi Coast tour so it was a big day, however Anna and Luigi were on point the whole time, they arranged lunch for us at an amazing restaurant in Ravello with amazing views and ensured we had the best seat in the place. Once at Pompeii the combination of Anna’s in depth knowledge and passion for Pompeii and the use of the VR experience meant that we were all able to really understand and gain true appreciation of the times we were looking at. This tour was one of the best we have done both for knowledge, professionalism and effort of the staff and the use of different tools such as VR to create a truly immersive experience. From booking to the drop off at the end of the tour it was great. Highly recommended.

Response from the operator: Thank you Glen. I know it was a long day for you, especially coming from Australia! I’m so glad you enjoyed your tour and your day with Anna and Luigi. Safe travels back home. - Jason

    Interesting and engaging

Very interesting and engaging, especially for young people who, seeing the life of the past, appreciate the visit to the excavations

    Worth every cent!

Except for the delay due to ticketing issues at the start of the tour, we (my kids especially) enjoyed the tour very much. The 3R Virtual Headset helped them visualise what the guide was talking about...even my youngest who wasn't following the entire "story" had something to look forward to between stops. Visuals & narrations were clear and guide was helpful in guiding us on how to use the headset. It made the entire experience wholesome!

    A not-to-be-missed tour of Pompeii!

Such a unique and exhilarating experience! Putting on the headset while being inside the ruins is as close to time travel as I could've imagined. I was able to experience how life in Pompeii was 2,000 years ago. The volcano eruption scene captured the intensity and emotion of a historic moment in time. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and really made the experience special. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Pompeii. This tour is an absolute must!!! Great for kids too.

Private Pompeii Tour with 3D Virtual Reality Headset: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Pompeii.

How much does Private Pompeii Tour with 3D Virtual Reality Headset cost?

    +

Prices start at $37 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Pompeii usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Pompeii Tour with 3D Virtual Reality Headset take?

    +

Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Pompeii is not rushed.

Is Private Pompeii Tour with 3D Virtual Reality Headset worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 63 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.3/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Pompeii, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Pompeii Tour with 3D Virtual Reality Headset?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Pompeii Tour with 3D Virtual Reality Headset suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Pompeii Tour with 3D Virtual Reality Headset?

    +

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Pompeii can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Pompeii and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Pompeii Tour with 3D Virtual Reality Headset start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Pompeii within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Pompeii?

    +

On Outty we rank every Pompeii experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Skip the Line Guided Tour of Pompeii Led by an Archaeologist, Premium Minivan Trip from Rome: Pompeii Tour & Lunch in Sorrento, Explore Pompeii with an Archaeologist. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Pompeii?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Pompeii?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
