Outstanding tour!
We had an incredible full-day tour, and everything was perfectly organized from start to finish. Pasquale was an outstanding guide who made the entire day run seamlessly. The timing at each stop was just right, and we never felt rushed or like we were waiting around. Anna, our guide at Pompeii, was absolutely fantastic. Her knowledge was incredible, and her passion for the history of Pompeii truly shone through. We learned so much, and she made the ancient city come alive with her engaging stories and explanations. The hike up Mount Vesuvius was definitely hot in July, but the views from the top were breathtaking and made the climb unforgettable. We highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the area. It was one of the highlights of our trip!

Wonderful visit to Pompeii, Mt. Vesuvius and wine tasting/lunch.
Our tour was great. Fabrizio was engaging and shared a lot of history and information to help understand Pompeii and the culture at the time. The lunch and wine tasting was fantastic, and the hike up Mt. Vesuvius was a great way to end the day. We will use Leisure Italy in the future. Thank you, Fabrizio.

Phenomenal Experience
A wonderful, personal experience from start to finish. We were driven by a great driver who navigated streets and traffic with savvy. My husband and I enjoyed our personal tour guide and the way she swept us gracefully around large crowded tours to see the sights and experience Pompeii on a very personal level. Afterwards wine, food, and Vesuvius met perfectly on the mountainside Winery for a one of a kind experience. Although we chose not to climb the mountain, which was included in our tour, we know that too would have been worth it. 10 of 10 would do this again.
Response from the operator: Hello Leslie. This is Giuseppe writing. Thank you so much for your wonderful review! I’m really happy to hear that you enjoyed the experience in Pompeii and the day overall, including the wine tasting and lunch at the winery on the slopes of Mount Vesuvius. It’s great to know that the tour felt personal and relaxed despite the crowds. Thank you also for your kind words about our team. We truly appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you back for another experience in Italy in the future! Arrivederci a presto Giuseppe

We had an amazing day with Fabrizio where he picked us up at the Naples train station, to Herculaneum, wine tasting at cantina del Vesuvio and onto Pompeii. The trip was beautifully organized, we learned so much but never felt rushed. Can’t recommend it enough. Beyond expectations. Fabrizio is very knowledgeable and passionate about what he does.

Absolutely Excellent
Our private tour of Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius with wine tasting was an absolute highlight of our trip. From the moment we were picked up, everything was perfectly organized and tailored to our interests. Our guide, Fabrizio, was a treasure trove of information. His passion for the history of Pompeii was infectious, and he shared fascinating insights that made our visit truly engaging. Exploring the ancient ruins with him felt like stepping back in time, and we were captivated by the stories of daily life in this once-thriving city. The wine tasting was the perfect lunch. Cantina Del Vesuvio Winery, set against the backdrop of Vesuvius, was idyllic. We enjoyed a selection of delicious wines, accompanied by local dishes. This tour is a fantastic blend of history, nature, and wine. It's an experience we will cherish forever and highly recommend to anyone visiting the region. Don't miss it!

Why this scores 64
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private Pompeii and Vesuvius with Wine Tasting and Full Tickets: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Pompeii.
How much does Private Pompeii and Vesuvius with Wine Tasting and Full Tickets cost?
+
Prices start at $769 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Pompeii usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Pompeii and Vesuvius with Wine Tasting and Full Tickets take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Pompeii is not rushed.
Is Private Pompeii and Vesuvius with Wine Tasting and Full Tickets worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 64 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 19 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Pompeii, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Pompeii and Vesuvius with Wine Tasting and Full Tickets?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Pompeii and Vesuvius with Wine Tasting and Full Tickets suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Pompeii and Vesuvius with Wine Tasting and Full Tickets?
+
Around 7 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Pompeii can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Pompeii and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Pompeii and Vesuvius with Wine Tasting and Full Tickets start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Pompeii within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Pompeii?
+
On Outty we rank every Pompeii experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Premium Minivan Trip from Rome: Pompeii Tour & Lunch in Sorrento, Skip the Line Guided Tour of Pompeii Led by an Archaeologist, Explore Pompeii with an Archaeologist. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Pompeii?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Pompeii?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
