Stress free way to see the highlights.

Our guide Tim was knowledgeable and showed us places we may have missed in our own. The best part about it was not having the stress of driving and being free to look around and ask questions. We saw all the high points and Tim got us to “Old Faithful” with perfect timing! Bison, elk and lots of stunning nature but alas, no bears. Next time!

Best way to see Yellowstone for the first time!

We were looking for a tour that didn’t start at the crack of dawn and this one had the most options so we gave it a try. Tim arrived at our hotel to pick us up before schedule and waited for us as previously planned. We were provided with beverages and snacks as we took off to head for Yellowstone from Jackson hole. During the trip, Tim gave us options for different routes to take, depending on what our interest were parentheses wildlife versus natural wonders. As it turns out, Tim is also aspiring to be professional wildlife photographer and has incredible experience with all kinds of animals, birds and reptiles. Once we got the Yellowstone we immediately Headed to old faithful as per our request. As we approached the geyser, we were amazed to see two bison, relaxing in front of old faithful! We couldn’t believe our eyes as they just rested there with the crowds assembling for the geyser to erupt. We weren’t sure how they were gonna react, but they didn’t seem fazed at all . We then headed to the grand prismatic area, which was incredibly colorful and impressive. The pictures do not do it justice. We opted them to head to the mud pots which we had never seen or heard before. After that we had a nice lunch that Tim provided and a picnic area by a creek. after lunch, we headed to Gibbon Falls, which was very impressive and what they call the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone, which is a streak with yellow rocks, and apparently how Yellowstone got its name. After that, we headed into Hayden Valley, where we were treated to a herd of bison crossing the road. They kept us snapping as they passed right past the cars. It was incredible. After that, we headed out of the park spotting elk and bear on the way. We were again provided with snacks and beverages for the comfortable ride home. The whole thing was incredibly well planned and executed and Tim was a fabulous guide tailoring the trip to fit our interests and pace.

Response from the operator: I’m stoked you enjoyed your time with Tim! See you again next time!

    Unforgettable family vacation (stress-free)!!

My family and I had an unforgettable tour of Yellowstone this past summer, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience!! With the park being so HUGE, there's no way we would have been able to visit all the incredible spots without a knowledgeable guide. Navigating Yellowstone on your own can be stressful (and tense with family members), but our guide made it seamless & stress free. Not only did the guide expertly lead us to the top sights, but they also knew exactly where to go to spot wildlife, which was an extra bonus! The trip was so much more relaxing, as we could just sit back and enjoy the park's beauty from the comfort of the car. We 100% recommend Ascension as your go-to tour guide!

Response from the operator: We’re glad you enjoyed your tour. Thank you for the great review and we hope to see you in the future if you’re back in the area!

How much does Private Old Faithful, Grand Prismatic, & Canyon Safari cost?

    +

Prices start at $699 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Jackson Hole usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Old Faithful, Grand Prismatic, & Canyon Safari take?

    +

Is Private Old Faithful, Grand Prismatic, & Canyon Safari worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 60 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Jackson Hole, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Old Faithful, Grand Prismatic, & Canyon Safari?

    +

Is Private Old Faithful, Grand Prismatic, & Canyon Safari suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Old Faithful, Grand Prismatic, & Canyon Safari?

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Jackson Hole can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Jackson Hole and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Old Faithful, Grand Prismatic, & Canyon Safari start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Jackson Hole within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Jackson Hole?

    +

Jackson Hole is wildlife-first: sunrise safaris for moose, bison and bears in Grand Teton, Snake River floats, Yellowstone day trips and winter sleigh rides through the National Elk Refuge. Guide experience and optics quality separate the wildlife tours. On Outty we rank every Jackson Hole experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Snake River Scenic Float, 8 Hour Combination Snowshoe & Wildlife Viewing in Grand Teton National Park, Best of Jackson Hole Wildlife Private Safari Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Jackson Hole?

    +

June to September for hiking and floats, December to March for snow. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Jackson Hole?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
