A Wonderful and Unforgettable Experience with a friendly, knowledgeable and entertaining dirver!

We met Danny outside the hotel at 9:00 AM and we talked as he drove. We explained what we would like to be able to see as this was out first time in London. He knew when the changing of the guard was happening and we set off to see a few sights on the way over to see that. He explained so many things to us as we went through the streets. Major history lessons and so many pictures taken as we went. When we came to the street where the changing of the guard was happening, he let us out and told us where to stand to see the whole event. Afterwards he met up with us, and we walked while Danny explained many more history pieces to us. We got back to the cab and took off again. More sights and photos, more history about the royal family and all sorts of things. We went to Abby Road and got pictures the plus ones of us crossing the zebra stripes. Then Danny produced a pen so we could sight our names on the wall outside the studio and took pics of that! When we were done because our time was up, he took us to an area where we could have a good lunch and explained how we could easily get back to our hotel. It was truly and amazing experience, one that we will always remember! Thank you so much Danny!

Response from the operator: We are so pleased you enjoyed your London tour with Danny. He is an excellent London Guide as he, himself, is a true Londoner!

Drive with Danny

If you only have a few hours in London and want to experience the city's most iconic sights, I cannot recommend a black taxi tour with Danny highly enough. We wanted an efficient way to see London's main attractions without feeling rushed, and Danny delivered an experience that exceeded every expectation. From the moment he picked us up, Danny was professional, punctual, and incredibly knowledgeable. His expertise on London's history, culture, and landmarks made every stop interesting, but what really set the tour apart were the personal stories andanecdotes he shared along the way. It felt like we were exploring the city with a local friend rather than simply listening to a scripted tour. The experience was engaging, informative, and far more memorable than a typical bus tour. One thing that meant a great deal to our family was how accommodating Danny was to my mom, who is deaf. He was patient, thoughtful, and made sure she could fully enjoy the tour and communicate comfortably throughout the experience. His kindness and attention to her needs did not go unnoticed and made the day even more special. Some of our favorite highlights included taking the classic photos at Abbey Road, visiting an amazing hat shop/museum that we never would have discovered on our own. Danny also knew all the best places for photos and happily took fantastic pictures of our family throughout the tour. To top it all off, he texted every photo to us that same evening, which was such a thoughtful touch. If you are looking for a personalized, informative, and enjoyable way to experience London, Danny is the guide you want. His professionalism, local knowledge, and genuine care for his guests made this one of the highlights of our trip.

Response from the operator: Thankyou Melissa for Danny’s wonderful review, he will be so pleased that you enjoyed his tour so much. He is a great London character!

The Best First Day in London We Could Have Asked For! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

If you're visiting London for the first time, do yourself a favor and book a tour with Danny in his iconic black cab. It was hands down one of the absolute highlights of our trip. Danny is a true Londoner, and it shows. He knows the city inside and out, not just the history, but all of the little hidden gems and local tips that you would never find on your own. We started bright and early, and that alone made the tour worth it. He got us to Abbey Road before the crowds arrived, which meant we actually got the classic Beatles crosswalk photo without dozens of people walking through it. We even had time to sign the famous wall before it became packed. What I loved most was that we weren't just driving by landmarks. Danny pulled right up to them whenever possible so we could get out, take photos, explore, and then hop back in without wasting time. We covered an incredible amount in just one tour. Some of the highlights included: * Abbey Road (Beatles crosswalk and signing the famous wall) * Sherlock Holmes locations * The cleanest red phone booth in London (seriously!) where Danny had us all peeking around the sides for one of our favorite photos of the entire vacation. *Coffee stop at Café Diana, the charming little café that Princess Diana used to frequent. It was the perfect place to enjoy a morning coffee while surrounded by memorabilia celebrating the People's Princess. * Drove by Alan Turing's home * Notting Hill, including all the famous movie locations * The last remaining Police Box for all the Doctor Who fans * Buckingham Palace * Lock & Co. Hatters from *The Kingsman* movie. Danny even shared a great insider tip: if the hats are out of your budget, buy something small like a box of chocolates and you'll still receive one of their beautiful canvas tote bags. We did exactly that! * Horse Guards, where we saw London's famous mounted guards up close. * Danny took us to a simple, fast Italian restaurant that locals actually eat at. It was delicious, reasonably priced, and exactly what we needed before continuing our adventure through the city. * Big Ben * Parliament * St. Dunstan in the East, which was one of the biggest surprises of the day. Such a peaceful and beautiful hidden spot. * Tower of London * We wrapped up the day the proper British way, with a pint at a local pub. It couldn't have been a more perfect ending. Throughout the day Danny shared fascinating stories, fun facts, bits of London history, movie trivia, and local recommendations that made every stop even more interesting. He was funny, personable, and somehow managed to make us feel like we were spending the day with a friend instead of a tour guide. I've been on guided tours all over the world, and this was easily one of the best. If you're trying to decide whether a private black cab tour is worth it, the answer is 100% yes. We saw more in one day than we ever could have on our own, avoided the crowds, learned so much, and came home with some incredible photos and memories. Thank you, Danny, for giving us such an unforgettable introduction to London. We couldn't have asked for a better first day in this amazing city!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for the wonderful detailed review. We are so glad you enjoyed the Full Day London Tour with Danny. He is a real Londoner with tales of our amazing City coming out of his ears!! Look forward to you all coming back to UK 🇬🇧 soon! BarryTours

Exceptional Full-day London Experience

Our guide Barry, and his full-day private London experience, was truly the very best tour we have ever experienced in our long travel history over the years!! Barry picked us up at our hotel lobby promptly, as planned, in the most comfortable hybrid taxi. Barry is brilliant! He has an expert level of knowledge regarding London and beyond. He is kind and professional and enjoyed every minute of our full-day tour. We learned so much and Barry memorialized the day with pictures which we appreciated. It was an exceptional day all-around. The very best start to our London vacation. We couldn't have asked for better day!!!! Thank you Barry!! We are back in London and reached out to Barry to see if we could replicate our wonderful experience this time with our son. And we were not disappointed ! Barry and his team are exceptional even with last minute requests!! We appreciate the knowledge and professionalism! Will be back for sure !

Response from the operator: Hi Betsy Thank you for the kind words on your experiences of our tour company. I was so glad that you returned and requested us again with a different tour. Your guide Steve is a great guide and keeps you entertained. Look forward to hearing from you again for 2027 🙏🇬🇧🇺🇸 BarryTours

Private London Highlights Tour with Experienced Guide in Taxi: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for London.

How much does Private London Highlights Tour with Experienced Guide in Taxi cost?

+

Prices start at $425 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in London usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private London Highlights Tour with Experienced Guide in Taxi take?

+

Plan for about 3.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in London is not rushed.

Is Private London Highlights Tour with Experienced Guide in Taxi worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 72 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 101 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in London, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private London Highlights Tour with Experienced Guide in Taxi?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private London Highlights Tour with Experienced Guide in Taxi suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private London Highlights Tour with Experienced Guide in Taxi?

+

Around 35 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in London can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in London and add a light layer if any part of the 3.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private London Highlights Tour with Experienced Guide in Taxi start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central London within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in London?

+

London's best attractions split cleanly: the museums are free and need no booking, so the paid market is about views, theatre and getting out of the city for a day. That makes value scoring unusually important here, and the Outty Ranking penalises anything charging premium prices for access you could get for nothing. On Outty we rank every London experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Soho Music & Historic Pubs Tour, London Small Group Tour of Historical Pubs, The Great British Rock and Roll Walking Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit London?

+

May to September for long evenings, December for the Christmas markets. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in London?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
