Despite it being a wet rainy day the tour was a great experience our guide spoke English well and was very knowledgeable about both the breweries and sake it self . Hiroman ( our guide) treated us well and every brewery was pleased to see us . I recommend this tour .

Great sake tour!
Seigo was an excellent host. Very knowledgeable and personable. Great sense of humor. Very good English. The small size of our group (5 people) allowed a wide ranging and intimate conversation. The stops were informative with a mix of old and new sites. Lots of opportunities to try different sake.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re delighted to hear you enjoyed your time with Seigo. He will be very happy to know that his humor, knowledge, and warm personality made the experience even more enjoyable for you. The small group setting definitely allows for deeper conversations and a more personal touch. We’re also glad you appreciated the variety of sake and the mix of traditional and modern stops. In addition to Kyoto, we also offer tours in Kobe, Nishinomiya, and Nara—each with its own unique sake culture and charm. We hope to welcome you again on another tour! Kampai🍶!!

Sake with Shinobu!
Fantastic outing with Kampai Sake Tours. Unbeknownst to us, we booked on the day of the Cherry Blossom Festival. This made the brewery area super busy but that did not deter our wonderful guide Shinobu from creating a memorable experience! Shinobu is one of the sweetest people you will meet and has a love of Sake that shines through. He will answer all your questions (we had many) and will go over and above to give you an authentic perspective. If only we could take Shinobu on the rest of our trip! Highly recommend!!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your thoughtful and heartwarming review! We're truly happy to hear that you had a fantastic time with Shinobu, even during the busy Cherry Blossom Festival. His passion for sake and hospitality always shine through, and we're so glad it made your experience memorable. Your kind words mean a lot to our team—and I'm sure Shinobu would love to join you on the rest of your trip if he could! We hope you’ll visit us again someday for another unforgettable sake adventure. Kampai! 🌸🍶

Why this scores 59
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private Kyoto Sake Brewery Tour: Certified Expert & Inside Access: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kyoto.
How much does Private Kyoto Sake Brewery Tour: Certified Expert & Inside Access cost?
+
Prices start at $24000 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kyoto usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Kyoto Sake Brewery Tour: Certified Expert & Inside Access take?
+
Plan for about 3.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kyoto is not rushed.
Is Private Kyoto Sake Brewery Tour: Certified Expert & Inside Access worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 59 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 16 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Kyoto, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Kyoto Sake Brewery Tour: Certified Expert & Inside Access?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Kyoto Sake Brewery Tour: Certified Expert & Inside Access suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Kyoto Sake Brewery Tour: Certified Expert & Inside Access?
+
Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kyoto can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kyoto and add a light layer if any part of the 3.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Kyoto Sake Brewery Tour: Certified Expert & Inside Access start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kyoto within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Kyoto?
+
On Outty we rank every Kyoto experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Kyoto : Gion Make Your Own Chopsticks with Engraving Option, Award-Winning Authentic Ramen Making Experience in Kyoto, Hidden Kyoto E-Biking tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Kyoto?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Kyoto?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
