Great way to see Kyoto!
So fun to see Kyoto via E-bike! Saw some shrines and temples we wouldn't have otherwise seen. Tour includes a mini tea ceremony which was fun! Shawn was very knowledgeable and easy to follow. Would definitely recommend the tour but make sure you're comfortable biking some hills.

Best experience of our entire trip!
Michael took my fiancee and I on the most interesting and fun bike tour of Kyoto - it was better than anything we could have imagined. It provided us context for all of the sightseeing we had been doing up until that point, and enhanced everything thereafter. Michael is funny, engaging, and could not be a better suited guide for this kind of experience. The biking is also very relaxed and non-taxing. If you are even remotely considering doing this experience, DO IT!! You will have no regrets!!

Absolutely brilliant tour seeing hidden spots around Kyoto
Not only do you get to see some beautiful Shrines and Temples but you also learn about Japanese history and culture. It’s great riding through small villages and seeing the architecture as well. Sean educated us on so many different aspects of Japanese history around Kyoto. None of the places we went to were crowded at all so we could really look around. This has definitely been a highlight of our trip. Would put this on your list as a must do while you are here.

Family bike tour of Kyoto
We have done a number of guided tours in cities across the world. This is literally the best tour we have done. Henry was very knowledgeable and funny, a great guide. Kyoto is a very safe place to e-bike and being on a bike when hot is a great idea. And this is not your usual tour. Ask Henry to show you Shogun related sights if you are a fan of the book and you won’t be disappointed!

Fantastic Tour with an Outstanding Guide
Had an amazing experience! The bike ride was both pleasant and fun, and the places we visited were really interesting. But the best part was our guide, who made the whole experience genuinely awesome! It was educational, entertaining, and a great way to stay active while exploring. I wholeheartedly recommend this experience and would absolutely do it again!

Why this scores 93
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Hidden Kyoto E-Biking tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kyoto.
How much does Hidden Kyoto E-Biking tour cost?
+
Prices start at $112 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kyoto usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Hidden Kyoto E-Biking tour take?
+
Plan for about 3.8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kyoto is not rushed.
Is Hidden Kyoto E-Biking tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 93 out of 100, which we label "90+ Club". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 2,072 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Kyoto, and how flexible the cancellation terms are. Scoring 90 or above puts it in the Outty 90+ Club, the top tier of everything we rank.
Can I cancel or reschedule Hidden Kyoto E-Biking tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Hidden Kyoto E-Biking tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3.8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Hidden Kyoto E-Biking tour?
+
Around 725 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kyoto can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kyoto and add a light layer if any part of the 3.8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Hidden Kyoto E-Biking tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kyoto within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Kyoto?
+
On Outty we rank every Kyoto experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Kyoto : Gion Make Your Own Chopsticks with Engraving Option, Award-Winning Authentic Ramen Making Experience in Kyoto, Kyoto: Gion Hidden Gems & Geisha Culture Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Kyoto?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Kyoto?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
