It was a wonderful way to learn about the history of Kyoto and shrines we visited. Masaya, our guide, told interesting stories, answered a ton of our questions and made the entire experience fun and interesting both for me and my teenage son. Through an Ancient City
This response form doesn't support the date of my experience. I had a good visit and wish I could have explored Kyoto at more leisure - such are the vagaries of a 2 week visit to Japan. How I wished to have spent more time in Kyoto - in the end it was a mere ½ day.
