Blown away on how good the tour was.
This was a very exciting and informational trip on the Myan culture tour. The Real Natives of Now what is considered, Mexico. Please be prepared to bring extra water, you will be burning a ton of calories on this tour! Also bring a small towel, the sweating is real!!!! We were glad we did the tour with bikes included. From the entrance of Coba to the farthest temple, is close to a mile. You can also have a guide drive you on a three wheel bike. We also enjoyed actually meeting and having lunch with the local Myan community. This was a hit!!! The hospitality was incredible. Please try and get Caleb Romagnoli to be you tour guide. He has a wealth of knowledge about the culture and LIFE in general.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for this wonderful and thoughtful review! It was truly a pleasure spending the day with you and sharing not only the history of Cobá, but also a little more about Maya culture and life in the region. I’m especially happy to hear that you enjoyed the bike ride and the visit with the local Maya community. That lunch and the hospitality are such a special part of the experience, and I’m glad it became one of the highlights of your day. Thank you as well for your kind words about me. It genuinely means a lot to know that you enjoyed our conversations and found the experience both informative and personal. I hope to welcome you back to Mexico someday for another adventure! Tour exceeded already high hopes and expectations.
We had an incredible experience with Boutique Tours Mexico, and I cannot say enough good things about our guide, Caleb. From Cancun to Tulum to Mexico City, his knowledge of the area, history, culture, archaeology, food, and local life was genuinely impressive. Caleb is not just a guide who repeats facts. He is an outside the box thinker, offering alternative ideas and a brilliant conversationalist. Every question turned into an interesting discussion, and every stop felt thoughtful rather than scripted. I believe he may have missed his calling as an archaeologist in the spirit of Indiana Jones. The entire experience was smooth, safe, and fun from beginning to end. Our security and comfort were never in question, and Caleb kept everything organized while still making the day feel relaxed and enjoyable. Fees were included in pricing, we were able to avoid any large crowds and were back in time to relax before dinner. The cenote tours were as long as you want them to be. Best for couples or small groups who don't want to be constrained by a more public tour. Boutique Tours Mexico delivered a truly memorable experience, and Caleb was a huge reason why. I would highly recommend them.

Thank you again for trusting me and Boutique Tours Mexico, and especially for recommending us so warmly. I hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back to Mexico someday! Great Coba and Cenotes tour
Our guide Josh was very knowledgeable. We really enjoyed the tour of the Coba Ruins, the lunch at a Mayan home and especially the giant cenote that we had all to ourselves.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your kind review! I’m very happy to hear that you enjoyed the experience with Josh and especially that you had the chance to enjoy the cenote completely on your own. Those quiet, authentic moments are exactly what we love creating for our guests. I’m also glad you enjoyed exploring Cobá and sharing lunch with a Maya family. Thank you for trusting Boutique Tours Mexico and for taking the time to share your experience. We hope to welcome you back to Mexico for another adventure! Warm regards, Caleb BTM Team

This was an absolutely...
This was an absolutely amazing tour of Coba, it’s Cenotes and a lovely Mayan village for lunch. Our whole family had an incredible time. Our guide, Paul, was one of the kindest, and friendliest folks we have ever met. The beautiful thing about this was that everything was included in the tour from the knowledgeable guides in Coba to the Cenotes and the lunch. If the price of the tour gives you pause, don’t let it. It’s well worth the cost for everything that is taken care of. Even the “Mayan limo” rickshaw type transportation to the Covan pyramid. The lunch was perhaps the most delicious food we’ve had so far on our trip. Tender slow roasted chicken was just mouth wateringly good. And everything was cooked with such care and love by the Mayan family that calls that home. The kids especially loved making one of their own tortillas. I cannot recommend this trip highly enough. Thanks again to Paul for a lovely visit to Coba.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for this incredible review! I’m truly happy to hear that your whole family had such a wonderful time and that the experience exceeded your expectations. I’m especially glad you enjoyed the cenotes, the visit to Cobá, and of course the lunch with the Maya family. Sharing that food, learning how the tortillas are made, and experiencing their hospitality is one of the most special parts of our tours. I’m so happy your kids enjoyed it too! Thank you as well for your kind words about Paul. I’ll make sure he knows how much you appreciated his care and kindness. It was a pleasure having your family with us. Thank you for trusting Boutique Tours Mexico and for recommending us so warmly. We hope to welcome you back to Mexico for another unforgettable experience! Warm regards, Caleb BTM Team

Why this scores 79
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private Coba & Cenotes tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Playa del Carmen.
How much does Private Coba & Cenotes tour cost?
+
Prices start at $210 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Playa del Carmen usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Coba & Cenotes tour take?
+
Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Playa del Carmen is not rushed.
Is Private Coba & Cenotes tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 79 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 102 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Playa del Carmen, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Coba & Cenotes tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Coba & Cenotes tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Coba & Cenotes tour?
+
Around 36 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Playa del Carmen can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Playa del Carmen and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Coba & Cenotes tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Playa del Carmen within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Playa del Carmen?
+
On Outty we rank every Playa del Carmen experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include VIP Chichen Itza Private Tour, VIP Tulum Private Tour, Chichen Itza Private Tour VIP. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Playa del Carmen?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Playa del Carmen?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
