Lilyshang is an outstanding guide and we highly recommend her for your visit to Beijing

We loved our travel experience in Beijing with our guide Lilyshang. She is an excellent guide in all respects. She provided outstanding information at every site and answered all our questions thoroughly. Lily is organized, efficient, and very pleasant. She was able to handle our family of 6 (including a toddler and an infant) with ease facilitating all of our needs. Lily directed us to the most advantageous spots for viewing and taking photos while negotiating crowded places. She balanced every day with great visits to significant places and nice eating venues with a delicious variety of local Chinese cuisine. She offered additional suggestions when we had the time and responded to our needs. We highly recommend Lilyshang. She is terrific in every way!

Response from the operator: Dear Jo Ann S, thank you for your kind post of this Beijing tour! It is very exciting to have your approval of our travel service, which is also a great impetus for our improvement. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to serve you. We look forward to exploring the world with you soon. Best regards from TravelChinaGuide Tours.

    Highly Recommended Tour

I highly recommend this tour if you want to understand about the history and culture of China in Beijing and Xi’an, appreciate the beauty of China sceneries in Zhang Jia Jie and Guilin and witnessing their progress in Shanghai. The guides (Lucy, Jerry, Ada, Lele, Mulan) arranged by our planner, Liberman Li were very professional and knowledgeable. We have learned so much from them and had great fun. Food selection was also great. The drivers were excellent, we felt very safe throughout the trip and all vehicles were kept clean with water provided at all times. I would also like to thank Liberman for planning our trip, he has been very responsive and contactable during the planning and throughout the trip, we did not have to worry a second because we were picked up promptly at each stop and we were always briefed about our next itinerary. Everything was very well planned. I will definitely recommend China Highlights!

Private China Tour to Beijing, Xi'an, Zhangjiajie and Shanghai: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Beijing.

How much does Private China Tour to Beijing, Xi'an, Zhangjiajie and Shanghai cost?

    +

Prices start at $2999 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Beijing usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private China Tour to Beijing, Xi'an, Zhangjiajie and Shanghai take?

    +

Plan for about 264 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Beijing is not rushed.

Is Private China Tour to Beijing, Xi'an, Zhangjiajie and Shanghai worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 58 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 12 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable outdoors in Beijing, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private China Tour to Beijing, Xi'an, Zhangjiajie and Shanghai?

    +

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is Private China Tour to Beijing, Xi'an, Zhangjiajie and Shanghai suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 264-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private China Tour to Beijing, Xi'an, Zhangjiajie and Shanghai?

    +

Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Beijing can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Beijing and add a light layer if any part of the 264-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private China Tour to Beijing, Xi'an, Zhangjiajie and Shanghai start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Beijing within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Beijing?

    +

On Outty we rank every Beijing experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Mubus: Mutianyu Great Wall Bus Tour with Summer Palace Options, Beijing: Top 6 Highlights All Inclusive 2-Day Private Tour, Private Mutianyu Great Wall Trip With English-Speaking Driver. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Beijing?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Beijing?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
