Amazing private tour with Victor — Chichén Itzá & X’ux-Ha cenote
We booked a private tour through Roots & Ruins for Chichén Itzá and the X’ux-Ha cenote, and it exceeded all our expectations. Victor, our driver and guide, was fantastic from start to finish — he picked us up early so we could beat the crowds at Chichén Itzá, and it made a huge difference having the ruins feel calm and uncrowded. He was incredibly knowledgeable, sharing history and context throughout, and just great company for the whole day. Afterward we went to the X’ux-Ha cenote, and we had the entire place to ourselves — such a peaceful, beautiful spot to cool off after exploring the ruins. As it was just the two of us with Victor, the whole day felt personal and relaxed rather than rushed like a big group tour. Highly recommend Roots & Ruins, and ask for Victor if you can — he made the day truly special.

We had an amazing experience with Víctor of Roots & Ruins. We were staying at a resort along the Riviera Maya and he made arrangements to pick us up there. 7-8 hours later, we were back at the same resort having spent an amazing day touring the Cobá ruins, two different cenotes, and enjoying a delicious lunch. Víctor has very strong communication skills in both English and Spanish. He was flexible and adaptable to the needs and desires of the group (there were 15 of us, including 9 kids!). Víctor took care of every detail throughout the day (bike rentals at the ruins, admission into the different sites, etc.), so the experience was entirely stress free. I cannot recommend Víctor highly enough.

Unforgettable Experience!
The tour was amazing. My husband and I wanted a private tour for a more comfortable experience. It was worth every penny! We were set up with Víctor. The ride there was great the vehicle was clean and we stopped for a quick to go breakfast and restrooms. He is very knowledgeable about everything from the local towns, Chichen Itza, food, etc. he knew the answer for every question we asked. The tour itself was unforgettable! The Cenote was gorgeous! The food from a local restaurant was amazing! We felt right at home. We left at 6:30 am and were back home by 15:17. Thank you again! Can’t wait to bring my family along next time!

Victor was an excellent tour guide! He was very knowledgeable about the subject matter and easy to work with to tailor the tour to what interested us most. It was such a good trip, we booked another tour with Victor for later in our trip!

Great Experience at Chichen Itcha
We had a great experience with Victor at Roots and Ruins. He was very friendly, smart, and easy to talk to. We did the tour of Chichen Itcha, Valladolid, and a cenote, which was a perfect mix of history, culture, and nature. His knowledge of Mexican history and culture is incredible. Victor has a great personal touch and eye for detail, whether it's providing water and snacks or knowing the best spots to take pictures. I can't recommend Roots and Ruins highly enough.
