Tulum, Sea Turtles, and Cenotes!
I did this tour with my 4 teenage sons and we had a great day! Note that this is indeed a full day activity, but with three different sites to visit it broke it up well. Our guide, Erica, was very knowledgeable of all the sites, as well as Mayan history. She was very pleasant and mixed in the right amount of humour tonher dialog. Highly recommend this tour as a great way to experience multiple aspects of Mexican culture and history.

Beautiful but Rushed
Overall, this was a good opportunity to see a part of Mexico that we otherwise probably wouldn't have experienced during our holiday. The pickup was prompt, and despite being over an hour away, the journey was surprisingly pleasant. Our tour guide, Amber, was superb throughout. She had an in-depth knowledge of everything we encountered, from the Mayan ruins at Tulum, to the turtles and the sea grass they feed on, and the cenotes that dominate the geology of the Yucatan. Her knowledge really did add to the experience, and she was excellent at explaining what we were seeing. I did, however, find the trip quite rushed which seems a little strange considering it's an epic 8-hour tour. There is a lot packed into the day, but I often felt we were moving on just as I was getting into what we were seeing. The cenote was nice, but it wasn't one of the grand cenotes I'd imagined. It was more of a walkthrough, have a look and get out affair, and the experience seemed to last moments. The snorkelling with the turtles was much the same. It was a fleeting and crowded experience, with the whole thing heavily restricted by conservation regulations. I completely understand why the restrictions are there, and I'm certainly not suggesting they should be relaxed, but it still felt like a bit of a letdown. Tulum was probably the biggest surprise for me. We hadn't been back since 1999, and things have certainly changed. You can now only view the ruins from the designated paths, and there's no getting up close to them or touching them. Again, I completely understand the need to protect the site, but it was a far cry from how things were when I was last here. That said, we got to see the ruins, experience a cenote, and snorkel with turtles all in one day, which is quite a lot to pack in. I'm glad I've done the tour and I don't regret going, but if I'd known exactly how the day would play out, I probably wouldn't have rushed to add it to my list. There is a lot to see, but much of it is fleeting and the whole experience can feel a little rushed. The absolute worst part of the trip was the push for photographs by the Ocean Tours photographer. It broke the whole charm of the day, while he pushed the lens in at inopportune moments. Then a hard sell at the end of the day for us all to buy the results. The trip is worth doing if you want to see all three attractions in one day but go knowing that you'll be getting a taste of each rather than really having time to immerse yourself in any of them.

What an incredible experience from seeing the ruins in tulum in such a picturesque setting to swimming with turtles fish and rays to the cenotes all enclosed and magical. Alfredo was a fab tour guide including my children every step on the way and even a special job in the caves. Definitely highly recommended to do this tour
