What you'll see and do
Archaeological Park of Pompeii
Around 8; 00 we will pick you up at your hotel in Naples and we will go to the archaeological excavations of Pompeii in MiniVan. After a journey of about 40 minutes, we will arrive at the ruins of the ancient Roman city. On August 24, 79, Emperor Titus received one of the worst news of his reign: Vesuvius unleashed its fury on Stabia, Herculaneum and Pompeii. We will see closely the devastating effects of the volcano on the latter city along its roads, where we will observe how ash covered most of the urban layout. The city was completely buried and forgotten until the eighteenth century. We will tell you the story of how, in this era, the remains were discovered thanks to the excavations encouraged by the future King of Spain Charles III. On our tour we will cross the forum where the Romans gathered and traded. We will learn about their lifestyle by visiting the remains of public buildings such as the lupanare, decorated with frescoes represented erotic scenes. In the majestic Casa dei Vettii we will admire the luxury that reigned in the homes of the wealthiest families.

Archeological Park of Herculaneum
Around 12.30 we will head towards Herculaneum, an ancient Roman city destroyed by the eruption of Vesuvius in the year 79. Upon our arrival, its ruins will make us travel through time. The first stop on the tour will be the Corinthian Atrium House, one of the oldest in Herculaneum, of which the splendid mosaic of the walls and the tower stands out. Next, we will see the Casa dei Cervi, where we will observe the frescoes and the marble floor. In addition, we will be able to discover how the inhabitants of Herculaneum lived, going into the thermal baths of the Forum and the House of mosaics of Neptune and Amphitrite. Did you know that this house also had a grocery store? We will continue our excursion discovering the buildings of this ancient city and listening to the stories of those who lived there

Is Pompeii & Herculaneum Archaeological Park Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 44 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (0/5 across 0 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Naples, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

How far in advance should I book Pompeii & Herculaneum Archaeological Park Tour?
+
Around 0 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Naples can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?

What are the best things to do in Naples?
+
On Outty we rank every Naples experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Caserta Royal Palace & Gardens Small Group Tour with Shuttle, Naples Guided Tour by Bike, Naples Pizza and Tiramisu Cooking Class. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Naples?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Naples?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
