    Tour review with Dimitri

It was a good tour, Dimitri was a well-educated guide who explained the site in an interesting manner.

    We booked this because we...

We booked this because we didn’t want a tour, but wanted the practicality of skip the line. You don’t actually get a ticket with this purchase. You get a voucher which you have to exchange and a tour sale bureau near the upper entrance to the ruins. When you exchange the voucher they apply pressure tactics to try to upsell you a guided tour. If you say no, they give you a tour book and another voucher (still not a ticket). That voucher allows you to use a fast track entrance at the lower entrance but does not allow for skip the line at the main gate. In the end, we had a good experience but there process severely lacked in transparency.

No more with VIATOUR we never receive tickets on time for the visit too much crouwd to find help person where we suppose to me

Horrible ! Roma Quest is a Scam. We should buy tickets by own. they never send ( mail and watsapp) day before and spend 2 hrs to find help..another Viatour on site finaly admit 300 pers by day never gets tickets on time or can get it on time from them. We had only the receip so no entrence for staff at the gate ( obviously)and we were on time at the entrence. We want refound but they say they sended it!!! So after vac we have to fight for that after we lost precious time in Rome to get in Coliseo. They knows( roma quest) we never scan any tickets an try reach them many times. We finaly receive 2 mails from Roma quest since then (after 2 days past the suppose reservation we paid for)and they send me something we cannot open the file ...anyway too late for our reservation we pay. We will go on to get our money back. And hope that staff from trip advisor put their pants on and have a better custumer service that what we receive till today.

    Pompeii IRL

Excellent choice for those who want to see Pompeii without a tour. Ticketing and entrance are a breeze. You’ll get a nice guide book to explain the city. What an amazing and beautiful site! Highly recommended!

Just buy tickets when get there.

You don’t actually skip the line, they simply give you a voucher and then you wait in the ticket line to exchange it for a ticket just like everyone else. Waste of money and hassle to find location.

Pompeii Entrance Ticket with Guide Book and Map: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Pompeii.

How much does Pompeii Entrance Ticket with Guide Book and Map cost?

    +

Prices start at $37 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Pompeii usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Pompeii Entrance Ticket with Guide Book and Map take?

    +

Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Pompeii is not rushed.

Is Pompeii Entrance Ticket with Guide Book and Map worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 63 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.2/5 across 31 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Pompeii, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Pompeii Entrance Ticket with Guide Book and Map?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Pompeii Entrance Ticket with Guide Book and Map suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Pompeii Entrance Ticket with Guide Book and Map?

    +

Around 11 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Pompeii can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Pompeii and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Pompeii Entrance Ticket with Guide Book and Map start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Pompeii within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Pompeii?

    +

On Outty we rank every Pompeii experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Premium Minivan Trip from Rome: Pompeii Tour & Lunch in Sorrento, Skip the Line Guided Tour of Pompeii Led by an Archaeologist, Explore Pompeii with an Archaeologist. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Pompeii?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Pompeii?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
