Companies communications need improvement
Pompeii was amazing (5 out of 5). I gave a 2 out of 5 as company weren’t very good at giving directions ‘clearly’ to meet our tour guide, so we ended up doing ‘tour’ on our own.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your feedback. We’re glad to hear that you enjoyed Pompeii. We have checked the booking with our team and can confirm that our team replied to you on WhatsApp and also shared the meeting

Avoid at all costs! Dishonest pricing and misleading services
Do yourself a favor and buy tickets only through official channels to avoid being overcharged. I would give zero stars if I could. This experience was incredibly disappointing and misleading. First, we had to walk nearly 2km to enter through the amphitheater gate solely for the agency's convenience. I paid €26 for an entry ticket plus an audio guide, but there was no actual audio guide provided—only a basic mobile app to install, which is definitely not worth the €6 surcharge. To get the ticket, I had to go to a 'tourist office' that was actually a high-pressure sales shop. They pushed a Vesuvius tour on us for €32 (€10 per bus leg and €12 for entry), when the official public bus (EAV) only costs €3.50 each way. The bus was 15 minutes late but they still forced us to leave at the original time, cutting our visit short. The staff member accompanying us to Vesuvius was aggressive and provided zero information about the site, spending the whole trip chatting with the driver. This is not a tour; it is just a predatory ticket-selling scheme. Save your money and go official.
Response from the operator: Dear Sir, We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused and understand the customer’s concerns. We would like to clarify that we have shared a valid tickets. The meeting point and entry process, including the amphitheater gate access, are clearly mentioned in the instructions provided in advance and are part of the standard operational procedure for this activity. Regarding the audio guide, it is provided in digital format via a mobile application, as specified in the product details. This is a commonly used system across many attractions. The Vesuvius visit is an optional service offered for convenience, including transportation and coordination. Customers are free to choose alternative public transport; however, pricing differences may vary due to service inclusions. We regret if the experience did not meet expectations, but all services were delivered as described at the time of booking. Thank you for your understanding. Kind Regards

Why this scores 46
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Pompeii Entry Tickets: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Pompeii.
How much does Pompeii Entry Tickets cost?
+
Prices start at $44 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Pompeii usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Pompeii Entry Tickets take?
+
Plan for about 1 hour from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Pompeii is not rushed.
Is Pompeii Entry Tickets worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 46 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.1/5 across 14 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Pompeii, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Pompeii Entry Tickets?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Pompeii Entry Tickets suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Pompeii Entry Tickets?
+
Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Pompeii can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Pompeii and add a light layer if any part of the 1-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Pompeii Entry Tickets start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Pompeii within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Pompeii?
+
On Outty we rank every Pompeii experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Premium Minivan Trip from Rome: Pompeii Tour & Lunch in Sorrento, Skip the Line Guided Tour of Pompeii Led by an Archaeologist, Explore Pompeii with an Archaeologist. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Pompeii?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Pompeii?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
