Pleasantly surprised with my visit
Go back in time with a great lesson in roman history. There are so many highlights to see. Take your tome and stroll through the streets at your leisure while listening to your own audio guide.

We’re glad to hear you enjoyed exploring Rome at your own pace and found the audio guide helpful along the way. We truly appreciate your feedback and are pleased that the experience gave you the opportunity to discover more of the city and its history. Best regards, Vox City International

We spent 2-5hrs there. It was really interesting to see the city. It was really hot, but we had water bottles and there were places to refill.

Don't skip it
Yes, it's hot, and it's crowded, but so worth the hour or two we spent seeing it. Parking across the street is expensive, but just do it. So worth it!

Amazing site, poor guide
The site is obviously incredible to be in, the things you can learn and see will astound you. However, the guide is poor. There's a lot of rather famous landmarks that aren't covered, such as the garden of fugitives. I ended up using Google maps to direct us around the parts I wanted to see. The parts that are covered are informative though and appeared to be things that other guides weren't covering, so perhaps a few hidden gems. As a note about usability, this was my first time using Viator and upon opening the ticket redemption code, it tells you that the guide is to be downloaded onto your phone and to bring your own earphones, so the cost seems quite wild, considering the information on the guide was available around site, in pamphlets and on Google maps. I was also unaware that you can't pick up the tickets from the site, you need to go to a ticket kiosk outside of the venue. I don't think I'd use Viator again based on the start of our experience. Although the app, which is called "Pop" is a very good idea, it's not something I enjoy as it drained my phone battery since you need to have it open for the duration of your experience or else the autoplay feature doesn't work.
Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We're glad to hear that you found the site itself incredible and that some of the content included in the guide provided unique insights and hidden gems that enhanced your visit. We're sorry to learn that the overall experience did not meet your expectations. We appreciate your comments regarding the coverage of certain landmarks, such as the Garden of the Fugitives, as well as the usability of the audio guide. Feedback like yours helps us identify areas where we can improve both the content and the user experience. Many thanks VoxCity

WARNING: Do not buy from Viator
This was a scam. The cost was twice the price at the gate. Worse, the gate would not honor the ticket.

Why this scores 58
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Pompeii Archaeological Park Skip the Line Ticket and Audio Guide: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Pompeii.
How much does Pompeii Archaeological Park Skip the Line Ticket and Audio Guide cost?
+
Prices start at $34 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Pompeii usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Pompeii Archaeological Park Skip the Line Ticket and Audio Guide take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Pompeii is not rushed.
Is Pompeii Archaeological Park Skip the Line Ticket and Audio Guide worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 58 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.8/5 across 16 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Pompeii, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Pompeii Archaeological Park Skip the Line Ticket and Audio Guide?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Pompeii Archaeological Park Skip the Line Ticket and Audio Guide suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Pompeii Archaeological Park Skip the Line Ticket and Audio Guide?
+
Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Pompeii can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Pompeii and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Pompeii Archaeological Park Skip the Line Ticket and Audio Guide start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Pompeii within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Pompeii?
+
On Outty we rank every Pompeii experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Premium Minivan Trip from Rome: Pompeii Tour & Lunch in Sorrento, Skip the Line Guided Tour of Pompeii Led by an Archaeologist, Explore Pompeii with an Archaeologist. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Pompeii?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Pompeii?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
