Sorry to say it was a disaster for me.Was unable to find bus . Every person I asked seem to put me in a different direction. The traffic congestion was incredible and I finished up walking to the point of exhaustion. I am 81 and pretty fit for my age but this was something else. So my trip and money I spent was wasted. A very big disappointment after coming all this way from Australia to basically see nothing. It is all very well for agents to send directions in a country totally unknown to the client and then just take your money and say sorry. I would be happy to just recieve a refund for the bus and cruise, but I think I have Buckley's after the conversation with the company. It certainly leaves a bad taste in your mouth.

Response from the operator: Dear babyboomer255347, Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback! We’re truly sorry to hear about your earlier disappointment with the double-decker tour, but we’re delighted that you chose to join us and that we were able to exceed your expectations. It means a lot to us that we could provide a memorable and enjoyable experience after your initial setback. We hope to welcome you again on another Evan Evans tour in the future, ensuring every journey is just as positive. Warm regards, The Evan Evans Team

    Left stranded in Paris

The Eurostar return train was cancelled, but we did not find out until we arrived at the station. Visitor was notified of course but they did not pass this information along to us. Since we had no notice, all tickets for the last train were sold out and we were unable to return to London that night. I have emailed Viator and have not received any response. Don’t waste your money on this and book your own train tickets/tours.

Response from the operator: Dear Hannah, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding your recent tour with us. Please accept our sincerest apologies for the inconvenience you experienced due to the cancellation of your Eurostar return train from Paris. Regrettably train cancellations are beyond our control, and we were very unfortunately not made aware of this cancellation beforehand. We understand how frustrating this situation must have been. We have received your message via email on the 7th of December and have responded accordingly requesting further information to investigate this matter. However, we have not yet received a reply from you. To help us address this issue promptly, we kindly ask you to email us at rail@evanevanstours.co.uk with further details of what happened. This will enable us to look into the matter more thoroughly and provide the necessary assistance. Once again, we are very sorry for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding. We hope to resolve this matter swiftly once we receive the additional information.

See France in Style in a Traveling Hotel

My wife and I were onboard the Viking Kari for the trip from Paris to Normandy to Paris and it was a delightful experience. The Pros- 1) The ship was clean and functional. 2) The staff was friendly and seemed to enjoy attending to the needs of the passengers. 3) The excursions were well organized and were to desirable points of interest. 4) There was more than enough food and drinks. The Cons- 1) Though not the fault of Viking, the excursion destinations of The Louvre, The Palace of Versailles, and Monet's Garden were extremely crowded. If we had a redo, we would take this trip when the kids are not on summer vacation. The large crowds made it difficult to enjoy the beauty of these destinations. 2) The food on the ship was not exceptional. Lots of choices, but 6-7 on a scale of 10. If you want to visit many points of interest around France without having to change hotels and pack and unpack, I recommend this trip.

It's wonderful to know that the ship was clean and functional, and that the staff were friendly and attentive to your needs. We're also pleased that the excursions were well-organized and took you to desirable points of interest. We understand your feedback regarding the crowds at popular destinations like The Louvre, The Palace of Versailles, and Monet's Garden, especially during summer vacation. We appreciate your suggestion to consider visiting during a quieter time for a more enjoyable experience. Regarding the food on the ship, we apologize if it did not meet your exceptional expectations. Your feedback on the variety and quality is valuable to us as we strive to continuously improve our offerings. Thank you for recommending this trip as a convenient way to explore France's points of interest without the hassle of packing and unpacking. Take a pass on this

The traffic was terrible due to the city preparing for the Olympics. Took forever to get to our first stop where several of us heard the guide say that after our boat ride(included in the excursion) that we would walk up the stairs to view the Eiffel tower. She claims she said we'd be taking the bus to a second location for a better view of the Eiffel tower. This caused group Malay of people trying to run up quickly to get pictures. I would have skipped the boring boat ride and had lunch up by the tower. The highlight was stopping at Montmarte and enjoying the views and food and drink. This excursion is to be skipped.

Response from the operator: Dear guest, Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We appreciate your honesty and will use your feedback to improve our excursions in the future. If there's anything else you'd like to share or discuss further, please feel free to reach out to us directly. Please send us an email at reservations@evanevanstours.co.uk, with some more information so we can investigate further. Thank you for choosing Evan Evans Tours. We hope to have the opportunity to better serve you in the future. Best regards, The Evan Evans Tours Team

Paris by Rail with Sightseeing Bus and River Cruise: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for London.

How much does Paris by Rail with Sightseeing Bus and River Cruise cost?

    +

Prices start at $309 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in London usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Paris by Rail with Sightseeing Bus and River Cruise take?

    +

Plan for about 15 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in London is not rushed.

Is Paris by Rail with Sightseeing Bus and River Cruise worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 50 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.8/5 across 578 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in London, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Paris by Rail with Sightseeing Bus and River Cruise?

    +

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is Paris by Rail with Sightseeing Bus and River Cruise suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 15-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Paris by Rail with Sightseeing Bus and River Cruise?

    +

Around 202 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in London can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in London and add a light layer if any part of the 15-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Paris by Rail with Sightseeing Bus and River Cruise start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central London within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in London?

    +

London's best attractions split cleanly: the museums are free and need no booking, so the paid market is about views, theatre and getting out of the city for a day. That makes value scoring unusually important here, and the Outty Ranking penalises anything charging premium prices for access you could get for nothing. On Outty we rank every London experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Soho Music & Historic Pubs Tour, London Small Group Tour of Historical Pubs, The Great British Rock and Roll Walking Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit London?

    +

May to September for long evenings, December for the Christmas markets. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in London?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
