Pick up from hotel 4am and one and a half hour trip to Ollantaytambo station where we will board our train 6:10am and then we will make the trip to the town of “Aguas Calientes” (2 000 masl / 6 561ft.) which takes two hours. Exploring the Magic of Machu Picchu
Last year, my family and I traveled to Machu Picchu, one of the most amazing places in the world. Our journey started in Cusco, where we spent a day exploring the city and adapting to the altitude. The next morning, we took a train to Aguas Calientes, a small town at the base of the mountains. The train ride was beautiful, with incredible views of the mountains and the Urubamba River. The following day, we woke up early and took a bus up to Machu Picchu. The ride was short but exciting, with a winding road through the mountains. When we arrived, the view was breathtaking. The ancient Inca ruins, surrounded by mountains and mist, looked incredible. We walked around the site, took many photos, and learned about its fascinating history. The local people were friendly and welcoming. They shared stories about their culture and traditions, making the experience even more special. We also tried delicious Peruvian food, like lomo saltado and papa a la huancaína. After a full day of exploring, we took the bus back down to Aguas Calientes and then the train back to Cusco. We felt happy and amazed by everything we had seen. Visiting Machu Picchu with my family was an unforgettable experience, and I highly recommend it to anyone who loves history and nature.
