Excellent experience

Hilton was an exceptional guide during our visit to the Humantay Lagoon. From the beginning he showed a very professional, organized attitude and always attentive to our group. He did his best to get us there before the other tourists, which made a big difference in the experience, as we were able to enjoy the place with more tranquility and better views. In addition, he was watching at all times, motivating us during the climb and making sure we were all okay. His knowledge of the place and his disposition really made the tour much more special. We definitely recommend it 100%. If you have the opportunity to tour with Hilton, do so.

Beautiful place, 100% recommended

The care provided was excellent, there were no setbacks. Hilton's attention our guide was attentive, safe and responsible. They offer horse rental options for those who do not have mountain hiking experience and endurance. Even though we got rain the mountain cleared and gave us magnificent photos.

Incredible Humantay Lagoon

The tour was very complete, Hilton our guide was aware of everything we needed for the hike and was very aware of the whole group, also offered us a very good explanation of what the lagoon represents and its history. I highly recommend it for anyone who wants to prove themselves physically!

Incredible scenery and incredible guide!

My husband and I did the Sacred Valley tour with Freddie the guide and it was AMAZING! It was an early start with pick up from our hotel. We went to three sites (as we were leaving the group in Ollytantambo) and we loved every second of it. What made our trip special was Freddie, our guide who was so friendly, funny and extremely knowledgeable about the history of each site. He clearly enjoys his job and was very skilled at moving us all on at a steady pace whilst being kind and considerate of the different fitness levels within the group. Freddie also went above and beyond to help us with a little problem we had - what a great guy! The stops are carefully thought out and we loved all of them - the scenery and sights are simply spectacular! We had a lovely lunch with beautiful views - we couldn’t believe what great value for money the trip is. Don’t forget to take money for heritage sites ticket. Thank you so much Freddie for making our day so special!

Amazing day with Xavi at Humantay

I wasn’t sure what to expect before this trip, but it completely exceeded my expectations. The views at Humantay Lagoon are absolutely stunning — photos really don’t do it justice. The hike itself is challenging, especially at altitude, but it felt very well paced and supported. Our guide was exceptional — warm, encouraging, and incredibly attentive to the group. He brought such positive energy and made sure everyone felt comfortable and motivated, even during the tougher sections. I also loved how much care he put into explaining the surroundings and the significance of different parts of the journey. It added so much depth to the experience and made it feel meaningful, not just scenic. By the time we reached the lagoon, it felt emotional — peaceful, powerful, and unforgettable. I would 100% recommend this tour and this company to anyone visiting Peru and looking for something truly special.

One Day Tour to Humantay Lagoon: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cusco.

How much does One Day Tour to Humantay Lagoon cost?

+

Prices start at $25 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cusco usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does One Day Tour to Humantay Lagoon take?

+

Plan for about 12 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cusco is not rushed.

Is One Day Tour to Humantay Lagoon worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 71 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 12 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cusco, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule One Day Tour to Humantay Lagoon?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is One Day Tour to Humantay Lagoon suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 9. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 12-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book One Day Tour to Humantay Lagoon?

+

Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cusco can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cusco and add a light layer if any part of the 12-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does One Day Tour to Humantay Lagoon start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cusco within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Cusco?

+

On Outty we rank every Cusco experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Sacred Valley Full Day Tour, Peruvian Cooking Class Cocktails and Market Tour in Cusco, Cusco: Rainbow Mountain & Red Valley Premium Day Trip with Meals. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Cusco?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Cusco?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
