We can only recommend our Guido Giampiero. Sympathetic, fresh, and provided us with a lot of historical knowledge.

Pompeii comes alive!
We are a family of 4, (2 adults, 2 children 13 and 11) who just had their first trip to Pompeii. Because of how large site is, we knew we wanted a guide who not only knew where to go, but could explain the history so that we would have a deeper understanding. We ultimately booked a Thursday morning small group tour with Gennaro and got all of that and more. It just so happened that we were the only ones signed up for the tour that morning so our small group tour ended up being a private tour. From the first, Gennaro was friendly, fun and energetic! There was also no question about his knowledge of Pompeii and his enthusiasm was infectious. With Gennaro, you will not be bombarded with a list of bland names and dates that you will forget soon after hearing it. Instead, he will paint a vivid picture of the time before the eruption, the ruins on which you stand transforming to the bustling town it once was. Also, with every tour he takes in consideration of what his group's needs and interests are. For a knowledgeable, friendly, attentive, entertaining and memorable guide, we would highly recommend Gennaro, again and again!
Response from the operator: It was a true honor to meet you and a pleasure to be your guide. Thank you for everything. 🙏

Fabulous guided tour of Pompeii with Angelo
We went on a guided tour of Pompeii with Gennaro’s brother Angelo. It was fabulous. My husband does not normally like guided tours and listening to guides just repeat the same spiel. This was different. Angelo responded to questions and wove the trip around the highlights of Pompeii but customising it to our collective interests. The group of 8 was a perfect size. He brought the place to life. Highly recommend this guided tour. Well worth it.

Wonderful tour with fantastic guide - definitely recommend
Gennero was fantastic and was generous and waited for us even though we were 10 minutes late from the bus. He knew so much and made Pompeii come alive for us all! Had a lot of fun seeing highlights of the ancient city of Pompeii. Thank you for teaching us about Vesuma. Will never forget this!
Response from the operator: 🙏 grazie 🙏

Fantastic day in Pompeii with Gennarro
We had a fantastic tour with an excellent guide! Gennarro gives attention to both the major things and the details Would definitely recommend using a guide as Pompeii is much bigger than you’d expect. We went in a smaller group with Gennaro that has a more personal touch than the bigger groups! Grazie!

Why this scores 76
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Once upon a time Pompeii 2 and a half hour tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Pompeii.
How much does Once upon a time Pompeii 2 and a half hour tour cost?
+
Prices start at $12 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Pompeii usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Once upon a time Pompeii 2 and a half hour tour take?
+
Plan for about 2.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Pompeii is not rushed.
Is Once upon a time Pompeii 2 and a half hour tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 76 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 25 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Pompeii, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Once upon a time Pompeii 2 and a half hour tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Once upon a time Pompeii 2 and a half hour tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Once upon a time Pompeii 2 and a half hour tour?
+
Around 9 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Pompeii can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Pompeii and add a light layer if any part of the 2.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Once upon a time Pompeii 2 and a half hour tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Pompeii within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Pompeii?
+
On Outty we rank every Pompeii experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Premium Minivan Trip from Rome: Pompeii Tour & Lunch in Sorrento, Skip the Line Guided Tour of Pompeii Led by an Archaeologist, Explore Pompeii with an Archaeologist. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Pompeii?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Pompeii?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
