What you'll see and do
Obidos
Óbidos, a historical stone-walled medieval town, is our first stop. Its wall encircles the entire village! When we go inside, it is like going back in time, and then, as we explore the winding cobblestone streets with plenty of photo opportunities, we can imagine how life was many centuries ago. We will end with a beautiful view from the top.

Nazare
Stage of the biggest waves in the world, Nazaré is much more that that. It´s a old fishing village and a great summer resort where thousands of people gather during their hollydays. We will have the opportunity to see it all! We will walk to the lighthouse where we have the best view of those amazing waves, we will visit the fort where some of the surfboards used by the big wave surfers are displayed. Nazaré has already several word records from Garrett McNamara, Rodrigo Koxa, Nuno "Stru" Figueiredo and Maya Gabeira and many more to come. Did we mentions it has the best fish in Portugal?

An Unforgettable Day with Tiago – The Highlight of Our Trip!
We recently took the Nazaré & Óbidos Private Tour from Lisbon, and it was absolutely incredible. Our guide, Tiago, was fantastic! He is so knowledgeable and passionate about Portuguese history and culture. He took us to the best spots in Nazaré to see the massive waves and shared so many interesting stories that you just wouldn't get on a group tour. The stop in the medieval village of Óbidos was like stepping back in time. Tiago’s recommendations for local food (and where to try the best Ginjinha!) were spot on. If you’re looking for a personalized, high-quality experience with a guide who truly cares, ask for Tiago. Highly recommended!

Great Tour!
Tiago was an exceptional guide! He picked us up and took us to see the “real Portugal” as he described it and he was accurate. He was also very knowledgeable on the variety of subjects we chatted about - from infrastructure to agriculture to the history of each place we visited. I personally loved the aqueduct we saw and the walled city. Nazare was absolutely gorgeous too! Tiago called one of the top rated restaurants there and got us right in! Very good and very fresh seafood! He is also a surfer! Really just an all around wonderful tour.

Obodos and Nazare
The walled city with its quaint shops and fortress protection was a trip back in time. Our guide was excellent in his description of the area and its history.
Response from the operator: Thank you Mr. Tim It's great to hear that you enjoyed your trip to Óbidos and that your guide provided an excellent overview of the area's history. The walled town is indeed a fascinating place that offers a glimpse into the past with its charming shops and fortress-like walls. It's always a pleasure to visit places that are rich in history and culture, and having a knowledgeable guide to provide insights and context can enhance the experience significantly. Thank you for sharing your positive review! Safe travels!

A must see!!!
We went to Portugal again and decided to go to Nazaré and Óbidos. Great idea we had!!! The beach was lovely, the scenery was breathtaking, the waves were very big and there were surfers there too. Our guide Tiago was amazing! Very knowlegeble and a surfer himself. You could see his passion for the history of his country and the way he showed Óbidos and Nazaré you could see he was a very experienced guide. We Loved it!
Response from the operator: Thanks Mr. Peter, it was a pleasure to have you here and to be able to see those big waves was the cherry on the top!

Portugal is the best!
Portugal is a beautiful country! The ride from Lisbon to Nazare with a stop in Oibidos was magnifant, especially with the excellent commentary of our guide, Tiago. We could have spent three weeks in this country, one in Lisbon, one in Nazare, and traveling the many rivers.
Response from the operator: Thanks Mr. Ronald. It was a pleasure to have you here in Portugal. It was a great day, good weather, great views, history and good food.

Why this scores 64
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Nazaré Óbidos - Waves and History Private Tour from Lisbon: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Lisbon.
How much does Nazaré Óbidos - Waves and History Private Tour from Lisbon cost?
+
Prices start at $105 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Lisbon usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Nazaré Óbidos - Waves and History Private Tour from Lisbon take?
+
Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Lisbon is not rushed.
Is Nazaré Óbidos - Waves and History Private Tour from Lisbon worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 64 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Lisbon, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Nazaré Óbidos - Waves and History Private Tour from Lisbon?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Nazaré Óbidos - Waves and History Private Tour from Lisbon suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Nazaré Óbidos - Waves and History Private Tour from Lisbon?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Lisbon can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Lisbon and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Nazaré Óbidos - Waves and History Private Tour from Lisbon start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Lisbon within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Lisbon?
+
On Outty we rank every Lisbon experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Lisbon City Center Tour - The Unmissable Lisbon, Sintra Private Trip from Lisbon Customizable Dreamlike Experience, True 4Hour Private Tuk Tuk Tour: Discover Lisbon with a Local!. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Lisbon?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Lisbon?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
