Nagarkot is one of the nearest and popular hills from Kathmandu. Nagarkot is a village located about 36 km east of Kathmandu Valley at an elevation of close to 2,165 m above sea level. As one of the most scenic spots in the region, Nagarkot is famous for its sunrise views of the Himalayas. You can observe Mount Everest with its snow-topped peaks, and there is an overlook tower at the very top of the village’s hills. Eight out of the 13 Himalayan ranges of mountains in Nepal such as Annapurna, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Langtang, Jugal, Rolwaling, Mahalangur (Everest), Numbur can be seen from here. You will also have panoramic views of the Kathmandu Valley, and Shivapuri National Park.

We can observe a collection of pagoda and Shikhara-style temples sorted encompassing a 55-Window Palace made up of brick and wood. The square is part of a beautiful valley as it highlights the idols of ancient kings rested on top of stone monoliths, the guardian divinities looking out from their shrines, the wood carvings in the very place which seem to form a well-orchestrated symphony. Some of the highlights of the square are the palace of 55 windows, Golden Gate, Talaju Temple, Shilu Mahadev Temple and many more.
