About this experience
Real haunted houses, former hangman squares and old tombs make the city center of Vienna a perfect place for a ghost hunt of a completely different kind. After all, few people still know about the gruesome events that have taken place there in Vienna from the Middle Ages to the present day. Not even among the true Viennese there are many who know about the city's gruesome places, ghost houses and hidden torture chambers.

Worst tour imaginable.
We had no idea this was self guided. No where did it explain that pr that it was a scavenger hunt. There are online scavenger hunts at 1/4 of the price. Do not book this. £62 and all we got was a set of clues and we had to write the answer to the riddles (write in the snow!!!). This is an absolute con.
Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, even though you did not end up participating in the experience. We are sorry to hear that our product did not meet your expectations. Our rally guide informed us that you and your group decided to cancel the experience before the game officially started. We would therefore like to clarify a few points. Our mystery rallies are not self-guided in the sense of being unattended. Each rally is hosted by a trained rally guide who welcomes the group on site, explains the game, supports participants throughout the experience, and moderates the final evaluation, including an award ceremony and the opening of the treasure chest. The teams solve the riddles independently, which is a core element of any puzzle or riddle rally. We would also like to point out that we consciously avoid the term “scavenger hunt.” The expression originates from historically racist contexts in which “scavenging” referred to degrading human pursuits. For this reason, we deliberately use terms such as rally, riddle rally, or puzzle rally, which more accurately and respectfully describe what the experience is: a puzzle-based exploration of the city with historical background. Since this terminology is used in the headline as well as multiple times in the description of your booked experience, we assume that the nature of the activity was clearly communicated prior to booking. We are very sorry that you did not try the rally together with the other participants. Our experiences have been enjoyed by many enthusiastic guests for almost ten years, and it is quite possible that you might have enjoyed it as well. However, if you were expecting a classic guided city tour, then our product was indeed not the right fit. In that case, we are sorry that you booked an experience that was not what you were actually looking for. We wish you all the best.

I would repeat. Example of Gothic art. And when they finish cleaning the outside... A wonder. The smell of horse urine
Impressive! Admission is free, and if you go to Mass time, the better. It is undergoing restoration by cleaning outside. I have visited her several times and she always impresses.
Response from the operator: ¡Gracias, nos alegra mucho!

Why this scores 60
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Mystery rally Vienna: The scary city: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Vienna.
How much does Mystery rally Vienna: The scary city cost?
+
Prices start at $41 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Vienna usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Mystery rally Vienna: The scary city take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Vienna is not rushed.
Is Mystery rally Vienna: The scary city worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 60 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 23 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Vienna, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Mystery rally Vienna: The scary city?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is Mystery rally Vienna: The scary city suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Mystery rally Vienna: The scary city?
+
Around 8 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Vienna can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Vienna and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Mystery rally Vienna: The scary city start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Vienna within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Vienna?
+
On Outty we rank every Vienna experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Authentic Vienna Food Tour inc. lunch, street food, 3 drinks, Vienna Food Tour: Coffeehouses, Markets, Lunch & Street Food, Budapest Small-Group Day Trip from Vienna. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Vienna?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Vienna?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
