    A very big disappointment!

I really have to ask myself what we paid so much money for here. Especially as a student, 30€ per person is not small at all. That's what you end up with nothing in your hands. You rush 2h through Vienna without having had the time to look at the places you pass in peace. We even had to Google the last answers so we wouldn't be late and our "caregiver" wouldn't have to wait for us. As a tourist, I had a slightly different idea of a puzzle rally, which according to the website promises that you "discover the city interactively." After the tour we asked our "supervisor" if we could at least take the task sheets with us so that we can follow the route again tomorrow. The answer here was: either write to the office again and ask for a summary or simply search Google for Vienna and myths . I thought I wasn't hearing properly. If I can Google the route so easily, I wonder here again why I booked this tour. I would have been more happy if you could hear the summary right away, if you are not allowed to take the tasks with you for copyright reasons. What I didn't like at all about this was the one question where you had to go to church to get the answer. Unfortunately, during our game there was just a mass at the time. I thought it was very inappropriate that we were more or less forced to run in there and disturb. Speaking of the questions, unfortunately the questionnaire was not entirely accurate. Likewise, the two pens that were in the bag with in it did not actually write either. Even if we were only two people, no group photo was taken of us, as will also be taken to the website. The highlight of the tour was of course the included "treasure chest filled with Viennese delicaciesN" as promised on the website. We were allowed to choose a little sweet at the end. When I look at the prices in the store for the sweets, I get more and more horrified. 1 kg of the Viennese sugar I get for 12,99€. If I now extrapolate this to the little Bobon, it is not to be put in any proportion at all in the framework of 30€ for participation for one person. Here the website is very misleading. Maybe, for the sake of honesty, you should write to her to let her choose a little thing from the treasure chest. Then the participants will not be disappointed if they are allowed to choose only a small piece of sugar (for 30€!?). The way this rally is designed, unfortunately I cannot recommend this tour to anyone who comes to Vienna as a tourist and wants to get to know another side of the city. Also, I can't imagine participating in a tour where I have to rush through the city where I live to answer the questions and can't learn or see anything at all.

great experience for team building to combine competition, sightseeing & collaboration

We used the "Viennese Christmas" puzzle rally for a team building event in December with local and international colleagues. Both local and international people had a lot of fun learning new things about Vienna and Christmas - in a fun way. The tour was conducted in English in a very professional manner and was therefore suitable for international colleagues with no previous knowledge of the area and/or Vienna and is highly recommended. The organization with the team in advance was also uncomplicated and was tailored to individual wishes.

Response from the operator: Vielen herzlichen Dank für diese schöne Rezension, das freut uns sehr!

Puzzle rally for kids birthday is top!

Great tour through the 1. District for the children's birthday (8 years). The kids can orient themselves well with the map and enjoyed the puzzle rally!☺️👍🏼

Response from the operator: Vielen Dank für die tolle Bewertung!

The Price quality ratio leaves something to be desired...

We have the puzzle rally for the 11th. My son's birthday booked. Thus, 7 children were on the way. My son was super enthusiastic about the idea beforehand, unfortunately the implementation was not as presented. We met with the "tour guide" Anna. She explained to the children what to do and put the documents in their hands and said that she will show up a few times, take photos, but then we will meet at the restaurant for graduation and point allocation. At first I was a little baffled, because after all this "experience" cost a lot. The children had to solve all the puzzles on their own and they had to find themselves alone in the 1st. Find your way around the district. The children are already 11-12 years old, but if they have no idea about the 1st. district, then the whole thing is a challenge. My husband and I spent 2 1/2 hours with the kids through the 1st. district and had to make sure everyone stayed together and motivated. The basic idea is generally good, but I would have liked at least an accompaniment for 250 euros if nothing else is included. In many locations you get food, drink, cake and fun at the price; therefore, in my opinion, the Price quality ratio does not fit at all.

Response from the operator: Liebe Frau Schmidt, vielen Dank für Ihr Feedback.

Mystery rally Vienna: The secrets of the old town: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Vienna.

How much does Mystery rally Vienna: The secrets of the old town cost?

    +

Prices start at $41 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Vienna usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Mystery rally Vienna: The secrets of the old town take?

    +

Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Vienna is not rushed.

Is Mystery rally Vienna: The secrets of the old town worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 47 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.1/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Vienna, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Mystery rally Vienna: The secrets of the old town?

    +

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is Mystery rally Vienna: The secrets of the old town suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Mystery rally Vienna: The secrets of the old town?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Vienna can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Vienna and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Mystery rally Vienna: The secrets of the old town start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Vienna within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Vienna?

    +

On Outty we rank every Vienna experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Authentic Vienna Food Tour inc. lunch, street food, 3 drinks, Vienna Food Tour: Coffeehouses, Markets, Lunch & Street Food, Budapest Small-Group Day Trip from Vienna. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Vienna?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Vienna?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
