The Best Guides and The Best Trip
I simply cannot express how incredible our time was because of our guides, John and Esau (as well as the rest of the team). They were thoughtful, kind, dependable, and knowledgeable about the mountain - all of which gave my group and myself peace of mind the entire time. They were a joy to be around and I now have some of my favorite memories because of them. If you book with Zara, please request them as they made a massive difference to our trip. I booked this trip with a few of my friends for my 30th birthday. The operations, both on and off mountain, were unparalleled making it a trip I’ll never forget. Additionally, as someone who has food allergies, they were incredibly accommodating and I always felt safe with ample food options. The Zara organization, John and Esau, and the rest of our guide team made this a “life highlight” that I’ll carry with me forever.

Couldn’t have asked for a better Kili experience
John and Esau were incredible guides. They set a great pace, shared a wealth of knowledge about local wildlife, and became good friends by the end of the trip. They made the hike safe, educational and very fun. We were celebrating a birthday on the hike and they gave us a thoughtful card and gift at the summit to celebrate. The entire crew of porters made us feel right at home and made it possible for us to summit.
