Mount Batur Sunset Jeep Tour

Great adventure but doubtful about the guide

This experience took us to the lava fields and Mount Batur for an evening adventure. We traveled by Jeep to the Mount and climbed up the top through slippery black sand hills. It was amazing to see steam coming out from the ground and 2 calderas where previous eruptions had occured. We were doubtful our guide (Lubak) was being honest to us and solicited a tip from us by taking us to areas not included in the paid tour (without teling us what was involved - like the length and difficulty of the extra hike to the top and how much the extra adventure should cost). We did enjoy the experience. The guide was helpful but I doubt could be trusted.

A very horrible experience.

This was the worst experience dealing with this company. I messaged and asked what time would we be picked up on the day of the event. We were told 1600. Twenty minutes before 1300, I received a message saying pickup is at 1. Days before, the company quoted us a price for pickup. On the day of the event, they upped the price by 10 times the amount even though there was message thread proving quoted price. The driver, while driving was scrolling social media. When we arrived at the meeting point, without word of what we were doing. I asked three times how long would we be waiting there before the driver gave a response, while still scrolling social media. We were given several different wait times from that point. The actual tour guides were amazing. If I could rate them separately, I would. They were the only good out of this experience.

Your original booking was made without hotel transportation, with a meeting point arrangement. One day before the tour, I personally contacted you to confirm the meeting point. During our conversation, you explained that you did not have transportation and asked us to help arrange transportation from Nusa Dua to Mount Batur. To help you participate in the tour, even though transportation was not included in your booking, I arranged transportation for you and clearly explained that the cost for a round trip from Nusa Dua to Mount Batur was IDR 650,000. This was communicated before the transportation was arranged. We also accommodated your schedule changes and rescheduling in good faith so that you could still join the experience. Unfortunately, after the arrangements had already been made, there was a disagreement regarding the transportation fee. You stated that you understood the cost to be IDR 65,000, although we had clearly communicated the actual cost of IDR 650,000. We tried to assist you simply so that you would not miss your tour, but this was unfortunately not accepted. For clarity, the transportation was not part of your original booking, and the additional transportation was arranged separately at your request. Therefore, we believe the review gives future guests an incomplete and misleading impression of what actually happened. We are happy that you mentioned our tour guides positively, and we appreciate that recognition. Our team always tries to help guests when unexpected transportation or logistical issues arise, even when those services are not included in the original booking. We respect that you may have had a different expectation, but we also believe it is important for future guests to understand the actual circumstances and the communication that took place before the tour. The best thing you can do in Bali

The sunset jeep tour was hands-down the highlight of my Bali trip. We were picked up from our villa at 1:30 PM and driven about two hours to Mt. Batur, where we swapped into jeeps for the real adventure. From there, we wound through a local village and climbed the mountain to a secret sunset spot far from the crowds — our group had the entire area completely to ourselves. The guides went above and beyond, snapping photos for us and handing out snacks and water once we reached the top. A special shoutout to our guide, Dewa, who took great care of us on the drive up and back through the night. He was fantastic company — we even sang karaoke together in the car — and made the whole experience feel personal and fun. Big shoutout to Dewa and Sopie

Highly recommend this sunset tour to anyone visiting Bali!

We had an absolutely unforgettable experience on this Mt. Batur sunset jeep tour! Watching the sunset from the black lava stones was spectacular and a truly magical sight.A huge shoutout to our jeep driver, Gokong, who was not only skilled but also a great photographer! He knew all the best angles and took amazing photos of us that we will treasure forever. Also want to thank our pickup driver, Wira, who was punctual, professional, and made our journey to and from the mountain incredibly smooth and comfortable.
