    Great, beautiful experience

Very professional company. They were great at communication through whatsapp and picked us up on time. We enjoyed our coffee stop and sampling. Our guide up Mt. Batur was patient and we enjoyed the food at the top. Nobody warned us about all of the flies and there were many, all the way up. Just something to know about, not a reason not to go! The route we did was very steep- straight up and straight down without switchbacks, really. They offered a pole for trekking at the beginning. If you have trekking poles it might be a good idea to bring them just because there is some loose gravel so easy to fall on the way back down. We saw no other people on the way up or at the top. On the way down there were 3 people coming up who planned to camp in order to see the sunrise the next day. We appreciated the solitude of the sunset trek.

    A Bali must do

We had an amazing time. The hike was good but needed a couple of stops to catch our breath. Our guide was great and eating eggs cooked by a volcano was something else for sure. Best tip is don't try to keep up with your guide. Go our own pace and they will stay with you

    Incredible Experience

Amazing experience. Our guide was Kaden Raman and he did such an amazing job! Water was provided at the start of the hike and he let us go at our own pace, asking us if we wanted to rest at each rest station we stopped by. At the top he cooked us banana and egg sandwiches in the steam from active volcano and also gave us coffee and hot chocolate. An INCREDIBLE experience and the views at the top are insane! Highly recommend! You will not regret it

Wonderful day out in the hills of Bali

My friends and I were first time visitors to Bali, and we booked this sunset trekking tour with an optional visit to a coffee plantation. We first travelled to the coffee plantation from our hotel at Ubud. Following an informative and succinct presentation, we had the chance to taste various types of tea and coffee, including the famous Kopi Luwak. We were then taken to a nice restaurant with a panoramic view of Mount Batur, Kintamani Lake area and Mount Agung. The lunch options provided there are a mix of western and Indonesian foods, with soft drinks and coffee included. After lunch we were taken to the starting point of the trek, where we met our hiking guide Mr. Kaca and collected a hiking stick. Mr. Kaca is a friendly veteran hiking guide with 15+ years of experience, who had helped making this hike more enjoyable with his chats. Once we reached the caldera summit, we were taken to see the volcanic steams and Mr. Kaca had showcased his photography skills to take pictures for our group. Steamed eggs and hot chocolates made with the volcanic heat were also provided to us. After sunset, we were given headlamps as we make our way back to the starting point. The way down is quite challenging due to the steep, rocky slopes and the darkness, but with Mr. Kaca’s guidance we had made it back in around two hours under the starry sky. Overall, this trekking tour is an enjoyable one, and I would highly recommend anyone who wants to trek the volcano but do not want to wake up early for the sunrise. Special thanks to Mr. Kaca and our friendly driver, Mr. Putu who made it possible.

    Mt Batur Sunset Hike

A real highlight of Bali for us. We did it 30 years ago and it was so memorable we wanted to do it again. It didn’t disappoint. Spectacular experience. Our guides Wayan Budiawan and Kaca were tremendous. Very helpful and encouraging and knowledgeable. Ask Wayan about his singing career. Putu Anton was our driver. Great driver and laughed at all my jokes. Highly recommended!

Mount Batur Sunset Trekking (Include Set menu lunch before hike at Restaurant): questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Ubud.

How much does Mount Batur Sunset Trekking (Include Set menu lunch before hike at Restaurant) cost?

    +

Prices start at $45 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Ubud usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Mount Batur Sunset Trekking (Include Set menu lunch before hike at Restaurant) take?

    +

Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Ubud is not rushed.

Is Mount Batur Sunset Trekking (Include Set menu lunch before hike at Restaurant) worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 80 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 43 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Ubud, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Mount Batur Sunset Trekking (Include Set menu lunch before hike at Restaurant)?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Mount Batur Sunset Trekking (Include Set menu lunch before hike at Restaurant) suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 10-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Mount Batur Sunset Trekking (Include Set menu lunch before hike at Restaurant)?

    +

Around 15 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Ubud can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Ubud and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Mount Batur Sunset Trekking (Include Set menu lunch before hike at Restaurant) start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Ubud within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Ubud?

    +

On Outty we rank every Ubud experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Mount Batur Jeep Adventure, Best of Ubud Full-Day Tour with Jungle Swing, Full-Day Tour to Water Temples and UNESCO Rice Terraces in Bali. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Ubud?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Ubud?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
