    Perfect Mezcal Tour!

We had an amazing time on this mezcal tour with Daniel and it was a great value for the money spent. We were able to visit three different artisanal distilleries/palenques and sample a wide variety of excellent mezcals. The process of making mezcal was shown at the first palenque along with the wide variety of agave plants and then we sampled some product, purchasing a bottle at each palenque! We definitely started to feel inebriated after the second visit, but were confident we were safe being escorted by Daniel and we were certainly glad we did not attempt to do this on our own! We also had time to stop for a good authentic lunch in between. Daniel is a very personable, kind and reliable young man who does his best to deliver a positive tour experience. We highly recommend this mezcal tour and are grateful for the memorable day!

    Highly recommended!

An excellent way to learn about artisanal mezcal production at a relaxed pace, while having the opportunity to meet the owners of the *palenques* and share quality time with them. Daniel offers authentic experiences and is always very attentive to everyone's needs during the tour. The groups are never too large, which allows you to really get to know the people you share the experience with. Highly recommended!

    Excellent, 100% recommended.

A highly recommended activity! We learned a lot about mezcal and its culture, it was a very pleasant morning while we toured the town of Minas, we visited mezcal-producing families and stopped to eat at a local and affordable place, the mezcal-producing families were the most valuable part of this tour, Daniel knows a lot about mezcal and his own state. 100% recommended.

Is Mezcal Distilleries : Local Producers Palenque and Tasting worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 69 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Oaxaca City, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Oaxaca City and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Oaxaca City?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Oaxaca City?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
