About this experience
The unique design of the Maui Magic allows access to destinations that other boats are unable to reach. The Maui Magic explores more of the coastal waters around South Maui, Hawaii allowing you to see beautiful tropical fish, colorful corals, spinner and bottlenose dolphins, green sea turtles and even seasonal humpback whales! Along the way, you'll get to explore Maui’s dramatic coastline that only a few boats travel to! Get a chance to watch spinner dolphins and Pacific bottlenose dolphins ride alongside the boat (when Mother Nature permits). We also choose a second spot where you can often snorkel with turtles. ."

A great day on the water
Overall the experience was great! The crew provided guidance on where to go to have the best experience. They even stopped when a pair of dolphins passed by our boat! The tour flew by and had a good amount of breaks between snorkeling spots. We were lucky to be able to see 4 turtles at the same time! The food was also very good. The pork tacos were delicious and you can't beat an open bar plus a chocolate chip cookie for dessert.
Response from the operator: Mahalo for the wonderful review!

My fiance and I truly...
My fiance and I truly enjoyed snorkeling with Maui Magic. We wanted something relaxing and more intimate. It was maybe 40-50 people on the trip, but the boat with two decks felt so spacious that it didn’t feel like so many people. I booked this specifically to do Molokini crater, but sadly due to wind conditions, we had to divert and went to Coral Gardens instead. The captain tried to take us to Molokini crater to see the conditions himself, which I appreciated it. All of the boats that day also had to divert away from it. It turned out to be one of THE best experiences. We went to a spot where we saw familiesssss of turtles, so many fish and such a vast reef. The crew was friendly and informative. They were so protective to get us food and drinks, which were all delicious. They had snorkeling gear for us, even wet suit jackets for renting. I’m bummed out we didn’t get to go to Molokini BUT this was one of the best experiences during our first trip to Maui.
Response from the operator: Mahalo for your 5-star review! We are so happy to hear you enjoyed your time at Coral Gardens and had the chance to see so many turtles. We know it's always disappointing when we're unable to make it to Molokini, but your safety is always our top priority. We truly appreciate your understanding and are glad our captain took the time to assess the conditions firsthand before making the decision to head to Coral Gardens, just like the other boats that day. It means so much to hear that your tour was one of the highlights of your first trip to Maui. We're thrilled you enjoyed the spacious boat, our friendly crew, the snorkeling, and the food and drinks. We hope we'll have the opportunity to welcome you back someday soon!

Great Experience- Beware of Parking
The crew and overall experience were excellent! We saw turtles, sharks, and plenty of other marine life. Everything you’d hope to see on a trip like this. The lunch spread was fantastic, with fish and pork tacos, hot dogs, and plenty of options for everyone. They do charge $10 for a wet suit rental that you probably don't need if you are a decent swimmer. Unfortunately, our day ended on a disappointing note. When we returned to the dock, our rental car had been towed. I had THOUHT had paid for parking in full, but the parking app was confusing, it said additional hours were included, but apparently it was an hour short on my time. The result was an unexpected tow, followed by an hour-and-a-half ordeal, a $35 Uber ride, and $180 to retrieve the car. Hey, at least I got to see a part of Maui I never thought I'd see! Apparently this is a common occurrence. The tow people knew exactly what my mistake was on the app (it was either the hours or putting down the wrong license plate), and the Maui Magic crew was familiar with the process as well. Even the uber driver had taken multiple people from that harbor, to the tow yard multiple times before. After spending nearly $1,000 for a family of four, it put a real damper on what otherwise would have been an amazing experience. Parking is part of the overall Maui Magic experience, and I think they should consider working with a different company to manage the parking lot or perhaps moving marinas. The excursion itself was outstanding, but the parking situation left us with a frustrating final impression. After my review on Viator, the company reached out and said they had tried everything with the parking company. They asked me to reach out to the parking facility to complain, I'm not even sure how to look up a a parking management facility to do that. Outside of a refund of my out of pocket expenses I'm not sure what else they can do. I read all of the reviews before I booked, so hoping I can save someone from the towing experience that I had!
Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. It sounds like you enjoyed everything that was within our control, and we're thrilled to hear that you had an excellent day on the water, saw turtles, sharks, and other marine life, and enjoyed our crew and lunch offerings. We do want to clarify that the parking lot at Maʻalaea Harbor is owned and managed by Secure Parking Hawaii and has no affiliation or ties to our company. We understand how frustrating your situation was, and unfortunately, we have no authority over their parking policies, enforcement, towing decisions, or the functionality of their payment app. That said, we do everything we can to help guests avoid these situations. Parking information is provided on our website, in our confirmation emails, announced before departure, and there are signs posted throughout the harbor. We have also expressed our concerns directly to Secure Parking Hawaii regarding guest experiences similar to yours. Because your review describes an outstanding snorkel trip and exceptional service from our crew, we would sincerely appreciate if you would consider updating your rating to better reflect the experience you had with our business rather than with a completely separate company that manages the harbor parking. We believe your review accurately highlights how wonderful the day was on the water, and we'd love for your rating to reflect that experience. Mahalo, Nikki

Why this scores 70
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Maui Magic Adventure Snorkel: Molokini Crater and Turtle Stop: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Maui.
How much does Maui Magic Adventure Snorkel: Molokini Crater and Turtle Stop cost?
+
Prices start at $170 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Maui usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Maui Magic Adventure Snorkel: Molokini Crater and Turtle Stop take?
+
Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Maui is not rushed.
Is Maui Magic Adventure Snorkel: Molokini Crater and Turtle Stop worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 70 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 42 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Maui, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Maui Magic Adventure Snorkel: Molokini Crater and Turtle Stop?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Maui Magic Adventure Snorkel: Molokini Crater and Turtle Stop suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Maui Magic Adventure Snorkel: Molokini Crater and Turtle Stop?
+
Around 15 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Maui can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Maui and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Maui Magic Adventure Snorkel: Molokini Crater and Turtle Stop start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Maui within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Maui?
+
Maui's three signature days are the Hana road, the Haleakala summit sunrise and the Molokini snorkel sail, and all three are logistics problems as much as experiences. Sunrise summit entry is permit-controlled, Hana is a ten-hour driving day, and Molokini boats vary wildly in size. Our ranking rewards operators who handle permits and keep boat capacity low. On Outty we rank every Maui experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Molokini Crater + South Maui Coast Adventure from Kihei, Maui, Maui: VIP Private Road to Hana Tour with Pick Up, West Maui Snorkeling Experience by Boat from Ka'anapali. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Maui?
+
April to May and September to October. Whale season runs December to April. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Maui?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
