Be advised of Jelly fish. It was terrible.
The tour started off wonderfully good. We saw amazing whales. Jumping. Flapping fin etc. then we arrived at the entrance. We put on life jackets and helmets and jumped in the ocean. We ended up with a giant pool of jelly fish. They stung the entire family. A week later we still have welts. And pains. It was terrible. The park rangers did nothing. My kids were screaming for their lives. It was one of the worst experience of our lives. If you are going ask about “yelo fish”. Really called jello fish or jelly fish. We will never go back.
Response from the operator: We are sorry about your bad experience we hope to see you again in another tour here in Puerto Vallarta, Cancun , Los Cabos or any other destination.

Expensive but Rewarding
We went to the hidden Island with Vallarta Adventures, ( its not cheap) and it was a great 5 hours out as we saw Wild dolphins on the way back. To get to the beach you have to swim 60-100 meters through a cave. On the day we went the sea was quite rough and for every 6 strokes I took I was blown back four. Do not underestimate this swim it is knackering even with life jackets on, and I would not entertain this trip unless you are a very strong swimmer. Due to local laws you are only allowed to spend 15 mins on the island to take your own photos or allow the boat staff to take a set. These are available in book form , framed or just sent to your computer. The cheapest option was US $105. After the beach a 30 min snorkelling event took place but I was so tired after the swim back to the boat that I and probably half the boats total decided to give it a miss. Don't get me wrong it was an enjoyable but expensive morning out but do not undertake it unless you are very strong swimmer.
Response from the operator: Thanks for choosing us, and its good to know that you really had a good time, we hope to know about you next time, we have to many options for activities in Puerto Vallarta, Cabo and Cancun.

Beautiful nature; costly adventure
Meeting whales along the route was amazing. The driver knew where to look and gave us the opportunity to see a whale nearby! The equipment, snacks and directions were less than adequate. After paying for the most expensive tour on the list, we were still charged 81 dollars for photos.
Response from the operator: Thanks for choosing us, and its good to know that you really had a good time, we hope to know about you next time, we have to many options for activities in Puerto Vallarta, Cabo and Cancun.

Why this scores 45
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Marietas Islands with Guaranteed Entry to Playa Escondida: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Puerto Vallarta.
How much does Marietas Islands with Guaranteed Entry to Playa Escondida cost?
+
Prices start at $130 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Puerto Vallarta usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Marietas Islands with Guaranteed Entry to Playa Escondida take?
+
Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Puerto Vallarta is not rushed.
Is Marietas Islands with Guaranteed Entry to Playa Escondida worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 45 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.3/5 across 3 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Puerto Vallarta, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Marietas Islands with Guaranteed Entry to Playa Escondida?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is Marietas Islands with Guaranteed Entry to Playa Escondida suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Marietas Islands with Guaranteed Entry to Playa Escondida?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Puerto Vallarta can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Puerto Vallarta and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Marietas Islands with Guaranteed Entry to Playa Escondida start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Puerto Vallarta within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Puerto Vallarta?
+
On Outty we rank every Puerto Vallarta experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Winner 2026 Downtown Vallarta Food Tour with Vallarta Food Tours, Signature Taco Tour in PV with Vallarta Eats, Food & Mixology Tour:Tequila,Tacos, Mezcal and Agave Cocktails. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Puerto Vallarta?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Puerto Vallarta?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
