GoPralia is a scam, the boat is not.

The Gopralia company that advertises this IS NOT THE OWNER OF THE BOAT, we paid and got confirmation and arrived on time but then the actual boat operators told us they had no registry of our reservation as well as the fact that the Gopralia company had failed to pay them in several occasions, so they wouldn't be able to take us. Thanks to some very nice people who had booked properly their tour and took us in, we were able to cancel through Viator and jump on the boat with them, the boat indeed was great and the service was excellent. Nonetheless, DO NOT BOOK IT WITH GOPRALIA.

Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your experience. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience you encountered. We want to clarify that GoPralia Tours represents more than 100 tours in the best Mexican destinations such as Cabo, Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, and Guadalajara. Like most tour suppliers and operators, we promote a wide range of tours, even though we may not own the vessels or equipment used. Please be assured that we do not promote tours and activities that have not been inspected, and we only recommend the tours we offer. Our priority is to ensure that our clients have the best experience possible. Unfortunately, issues like the one you experienced can occur, but we strive to avoid them and work closely with reputable partners to provide high-quality service. We deeply regret the miscommunication with the boat operators during your tour. Our goal is always to provide a seamless and enjoyable experience for our clients, and it is disheartening to hear that this did not occur. We assure you that we are investigating this matter thoroughly to ensure such issues do not arise in the future. It’s also worth noting that some companies may use negative tactics as a sales strategy. At GoPralia Tours, we focus on providing excellent service and creating memorable experiences for our customers. We appreciate your understanding and hope you give us another opportunity to serve you better.

Not quite what expected but over all enjoyable

The boat ride and service was awesome. Beautiful trip to the island. We had to use the motor to get there but we were able to sail most of the way back. The boat was smaller than larger tours which I really appreciated (however there was a discrepancy with booking size. I booked a “max occupant 7” sail but there was 13 - still not a big deal). What I would like to say is that the snorkelling was more of a challenging swim and less exciting than expected. Maybe I’m spoiled with snorkelling in Hawaii? Water is only clear enough to see fish very close to the rocks. Also access to the beach isn’t permitted for everyone. It seems there’s a lottery of sorts for people who can go on - look further into this as I didn’t and was surprised to hear I wasn’t allowed on the beach. Only two of the 13 people I went with did. Good bird viewing location. I was excited to see blue footed boobies! As well as a good variation of other birds. We also saw dolphins on the way back in. Outside of a small let down on the snorkel aspect, the boat ride, food, drinks and atmosphere were great! Very attentive crew.

Response from the operator: Thank you for your detailed review. We're glad to hear you enjoyed the boat ride, service, and the overall atmosphere of the trip. It's wonderful that you appreciated the smaller group size and the attentive crew. We're sorry to hear that the snorkeling experience didn't meet your expectations and for the confusion regarding the beach access. We will look into these aspects to improve the experience for our future guests. Your feedback is invaluable, and we're happy you still had a great time spotting birds and dolphins. We hope to welcome you back for another adventure soon!

    Misleading and Blackmail

Let’s begin..first the sail boat in the picture shown isn’t remotely close to the sailboat they offer. The sailboat you get is run down and in poor condition. Second..they don’t even sail, it’s a three and a half hour slow trip to the island where you are breathing in exhaust fumes from the engine. Not once do they raise the sail.. This isn’t mentioned anywhere in the description. The tour company also sent us 30 mins out of the way to meet this boat even though they also left from PV. We left the boat at the island and headed back because of the poor conditions and highly uncomfortable ride. What they advertised is not what they delivered. When I requested a refund they said they’d only refund me if I gave them a five star review. That alone should give you an idea of how bad this firm is. Viator ended up providing me a full refund. DO NOT BOOK THIS TOUR…!!

Response from the operator: Thank you for your comments they help us so much to be better, we are working on the description to make it a lot more accurate to avoid this type of confusion on the weather (witch we don’t control) and type of boat offered. We also are working to avoid confusion on the 5 star request which isn’t our policy of customer service. If we earn it is through out our clients only choice.

Awesome day trip to Marietas Islands!

Great day trip to Marietas Islands! Staff was great and attentive. Really enjoyed the beach time and also the kayaking. On the boat trip back to PV, the staff entertained us and did a great job of involving all the guests on the boat. Really fun day and I highly recommend!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your comments. We definitely going to share with our staff so they know they are going in the right direction. Hope to be able to take care of you soon!

Marietas Sail, Snorkel and Beach: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Puerto Vallarta.

How much does Marietas Sail, Snorkel and Beach cost?

    +

Prices start at $59 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Puerto Vallarta usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Marietas Sail, Snorkel and Beach take?

    +

Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Puerto Vallarta is not rushed.

Is Marietas Sail, Snorkel and Beach worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 52 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.4/5 across 11 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Puerto Vallarta, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Marietas Sail, Snorkel and Beach?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Marietas Sail, Snorkel and Beach suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Marietas Sail, Snorkel and Beach?

    +

Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Puerto Vallarta can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Puerto Vallarta and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Marietas Sail, Snorkel and Beach start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Puerto Vallarta within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Puerto Vallarta?

    +

On Outty we rank every Puerto Vallarta experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Winner 2026 Downtown Vallarta Food Tour with Vallarta Food Tours, Signature Taco Tour in PV with Vallarta Eats, Food & Mixology Tour:Tequila,Tacos, Mezcal and Agave Cocktails. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Puerto Vallarta?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Puerto Vallarta?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
