What you'll see and do
Marietas Islands
We depart from Marina Vallarta around 9:00 AM. Just 10 minutes into the journey, we reach the mouth of the Ameca River, a scenic spot that’s also a great place to spot dolphins enjoying their morning meal. About an hour into the trip, we arrive at the islands. During the winter months, the journey itself becomes part of the adventure, as the ocean often offers incredible wildlife sightings — including dolphins, sea turtles, manta rays, and even whales. Once we reach the islands, we’ll provide you with snorkel gear and life jackets. Our team will guide you on how to properly use the equipment and share tips to improve your in-water skills, ensuring a fun and safe snorkeling experience.

Carlos and Hector are the shiz
Carlos and Hector were awesome. They showed us wild life on the way out of the marina and along the way educated us on the Booby Birds and another bird I can’t remember the name of but these birds were diving into the water from about 20’ up around the boat for fish. It was pretty cool Then they really helped my daughter out going thru the cave. Helped calm her down and got her thru safe. Great guys

Ask for Carlos as a guide. He’s great! Long ride out to the islands but worth the ride, saw Dolphins and sea turtles along the way.

Beautiful snorkeling. The guides are very knowledgeable about all the wildlife and area. We had to wait to get access to the hidden beach, as the tide was high and very rough. They got us all in and out safely. HIGHLY recommend this tour!

Amazing trip
Had an amazing experience. Shout out to Carlos for this experience. Carlos made me feel safe and comfortable in the water , for a novice who doesn’t know how to swim. I truly thank Carlos and Eco explorer 100% and wound give higher stars if I could. I not only felt safe but actually enjoyed the water so much ! Thank you Carlos and Eco Explorer ! Can’t wait to return for the whale watching and another snorkeling trip.

Hidden beach was magical.
Our tour guide Carlos was awesome. Very knowledgeable about the bay the wildlife we saw. The whole trip was safety oriented and the hidden beach was magical. I will caution you that the swim thru the tunnel to the beach was a little more challenging than expected but I understand that this changes with the tide.
