5 star service
Dawa guide is so responsive, helpful, trustworthy and honest. Glad to receive his support in my Nepal trip. He took good care of us and help us on most of the arrangement. I love that he also prepared a small gift and send us off to airport personally. Highly recommend on his service.
Response from the operator: Dear Ryan, We are delighted that you guys had successful Trek to Mardi Himal, Paragliding in Pokhara and Wildlife safari to Chitwan. We look forward to seeing you again in Nepal. HWW Team

Mardi Himal - A unique and unforgettable time
In April 2022 I did Mardi Himal Trek with Dawa, it took ten days. Himalayan Wander Walkers and especially Dawa did an excellent job! Dawa is a very friendly, helpful person with a lot of knowledge. He did the planning and organization (e.g. permits, equipment) and could always answer my questions in advance or during the trek. When I had some stomach problems during the trek, he looked out for me and gave me some tips and advice to recover. I enjoyed chatting and spending time with him and for me, he became a friend. We met in Kathmandu and took the bus to get to Pokhara, where we spent one night. We started our trek at the next morning, walking up a lot of stairs trough the jungle, accompanied with lovely jungle sounds and many Butterflies (I felt like I was in a Disney movie). In total we hiked up to around 4200 m. For View Camp -where to see Mardi Himal and may other mountains- we woke up in the night, to walk up and see the sunrise. I absolutely loved our last stop, Lwang Gurung village! It was nice to see a lovely village and some culture. A nice last stop and place to calm down and have a hot shower. I can absolutely recommend Himalayan Wander Walkers and also Mardi Himal Trek. It was one the most amazing things I’ve done and seen in my life so far and I miss Dawa, trekking and Nepal :) Looking forward to come back, thanks you and best regards from Germany!
Response from the operator: Dear Miriam, Namaste! we are glad to read your review regarding the Mardi Himal trek. Thank you so much for your kind review and sharing your experience of trekking in Nepal with us. Hope to serve you in near future. Best Regards HWW Team

Go to Mardi Himal...
Mardi Himal is a great trek, not too difficult and with amazing views of the Annapurna as you head to High Camp and the viewing point (4200m) or base camp (4500m). I returned through Lwang and can recommend that option. My guide Wangdu was excellent and handled everything with aplomb.
Response from the operator: Dear Peter, Thank you so much for review of Mardi Himal Trek with our guide Wangdu. Hope to serve you another trek soon. Best Wishes HWW Team

Excellent guides, great treks
Have used Himalayan wonder walkers for several treks (ABC, Langtang, Pickey and Mardi Himal). In particular Dawa and Karsang are excellent guides who are great to have for both knowledge and safety. Price is very reasonable and they organise permits etc as well. Highly recommended guides.
Response from the operator: Dear Brendan, We are glad to have your review here regarding your Mardi Himal trek with Himalayan Wander Walkers. Thank you so much for your review and hope to meet you soon.

Why this scores 70
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Mardi Himal: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kathmandu.
How much does Mardi Himal cost?
+
Prices start at $640 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kathmandu usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Mardi Himal take?
+
Plan for about 168 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kathmandu is not rushed.
Is Mardi Himal worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 70 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Kathmandu, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Mardi Himal?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Mardi Himal suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 168-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Mardi Himal?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kathmandu can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kathmandu and add a light layer if any part of the 168-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Mardi Himal start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kathmandu within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Kathmandu?
+
On Outty we rank every Kathmandu experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Private Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour | UNESCO World Heritage sites, Classic Everest Base Camp Trek, Manaslu Circuit Trek. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Kathmandu?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Kathmandu?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
