Ocean kayak ride
This was our least favorite tour we did of our trip. We went quite a distance to the snorkeling spot and then back to the launch spot. If you are looking for a relaxing kayak ride this is not it. The current is strong and it takes more work than I am used to when kayaking to get movement. We were not provided lunch as promised but when I reached out the company was great to work with and refunded us the amount for lunch. Our tour operator was good. He provided insight on the way to the snorkel spot but didn’t interact with us much on the way back. Thankfully we brought our own waters. The tour said they would provide drinks and snacks. We were thinking that we would snorkel to a beach or something have our snack and snorkel and come back. We tied up in the ocean and then swam to the snorkeling spot. A couple of us were not feeling well on the way back. You don’t realize how rough the ocean is. When we got back we had the fresh fruit and water that was promised. It wasn’t horrible but for the money I would much rather do something else.

Grandparents and 15 year old grandson's kayak adventure
I would highly recommend taking this adventure. Great views. We enjoyed the private beach area and laying in the small waterfall near the beach. Nice and cool. Alex did a wonderful job helping us. Due to my knee replacement six months ago I had to move slower but Alex was patient and assisted me getting in and out of the water. Eddie picked us up at the hotel and picked up our lunch so we could eat at our hotel. Enjoyable time!

Great way to spend the evening
Great way to spend the evening! Beautiful sunset, great exercise, and saw a few birds and fish. It would have been nice to be on the water a little bit during the sunset, but we did get to watch it while we waited for our van ride back to the hotel.

A day to remember!
Thanks to Dante and our wonderful guide Franklin for a safe and fun adventure in Quepos. Pickup was on time, it was safe and professional. If you are a beginner paddle boarder, however, I would suggest taking a kayak instead since it was a little hard to paddle board in the ocean (even though it was relatively calm). Nonetheless I had a great time. Beautiful scenery. Snorkeling, and a stop at the beach for fresh pineapple was an added bonus.
Response from the operator: We are so glad you had a great time. We hope to see you again!

Our guide was very nice...
Our guide was very nice and friendly but we had a very hard time understanding his English so it made the trip a little less enjoyable.

Manuel Antonio Ocean Kayak: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Quepos.
How much does Manuel Antonio Ocean Kayak cost?
+
Prices start at $74 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Quepos usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Manuel Antonio Ocean Kayak take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Quepos is not rushed.
Is Manuel Antonio Ocean Kayak worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 73 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 65 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Quepos, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Manuel Antonio Ocean Kayak?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Manuel Antonio Ocean Kayak suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Manuel Antonio Ocean Kayak?
+
Around 23 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Quepos can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Quepos and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Manuel Antonio Ocean Kayak start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Quepos within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Quepos?
+
On Outty we rank every Quepos experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Full Day Waterfall Adventure, Manuel Antonio Canopy Tour - Longest Twin Zip Line in Central America, Manuel Antonio Park Tour and its Amazing Wildlife and Beaches. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Quepos?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Quepos?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
