London Christmas lunch River cruise
It was a lovely experience to cruise down the Thames, enjoying Christmas lunch and a bottle of wine. The entertainment was very good and the staff was attentative. The main course was a tad cold. It should have been served hotter. Although I understand that the main course is collected from a tender during the cruise. I thought that it was all going to be prepared/cooked on board. But all in all, it was a good dinner/ sightseeing cruise when visiting London.
Response from the operator: Hi, Thank you very much for taking the time to share your experience with us. We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed cruising along the Thames, the Christmas lunch, the wine, and the entertainment. It’s also wonderful to know that our staff made a positive impression on your visit. We do, however, sincerely apologise that your main course was not as hot as it should have been. While you are correct that some elements are brought on board during the cruise, the meal should still reach you at the proper temperature. We’ve shared your feedback with our catering and operations teams so we can improve this aspect of service. We truly appreciate your understanding and your balanced feedback. It’s great to hear that, overall, you had a good dinner and sightseeing experience during your visit to London. We hope we’ll have the pleasure of welcoming you back on board again for an even better cruise. Kind regards. City Cruises.

Cancelled cruise
Booked this Xmas lunch cruise for myself and my sisters for 29.11.25 back in Sept. Was advised this week that it was cancelled due to low numbers. We are so disappointed as only in London for the afternoon/early evening. Sad to see however that many platforms are still taking bookings for the event despite me discussing with them and obtaining a refund.
Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your experience, and we’re truly sorry for the disappointment this situation has caused. We understand how much you were looking forward to the Christmas lunch cruise, especially given that your time in London was limited. Cancelling events is never an easy decision, and we sincerely apologise for the inconvenience. We also appreciate you bringing to our attention that other platforms are still taking bookings despite the cancellation. This is something we will investigate to ensure it doesn’t happen again, and we’ll work to prevent any confusion in the future. We’d love to have the opportunity to welcome you and your sisters back at another time, and we hope we can provide a more seamless experience in the future. If you have any further questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at customercomments@citycruises.com Kind regards. City Cruises.

Fun times!
This was a fun experience. It's one of those things that is best done as a group but my husband and I still had a really good time and would totally do it again. We paid £75 each. You receive a 3 course meal and a drink on arrival which is either orange juice or prosecco. All other drinks must be paid for separately. Food is not served until you reach your destination in Greenwich so grab a bottle for the way up and enjoy the wonderful singer belting out the best Christmas tunes! There was lots of dancing by all on the way back down the Thames and the staff get everyone up to do the conga... Total vibe! The meal is middling tbh... The quality just wasn't there, it was like upgraded school canteen food which was addressed by several passengers and the staff encouraged us to leave an honest review in the hope the food company could be improved. Great experience but if the food quality remains as it is, the price needs to be dropped because there's lots of other amazing experiences to be had in London for the same price or cheaper. Also; please check the menu and contact the company ahead of time if you need to change your dietary option.
Response from the operator: Hello 663berniceh, Thanks so much for sharing your experience with us! We're really glad to hear you and your husband had a fun time onboard — even without a full group, it sounds like you still got into the festive spirit! We appreciate your honest feedback about the meal. We’re always working to improve and have passed your comments along to the catering team — guest input plays a big part in helping us raise the bar. Hopefully we’ll see you back again for another cruise soon — next time, maybe with a few more friends in tow to share the vibe! Kind regards City Cruises

Why this scores 39
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
London Thames Christmas Lunch Party Cruise: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for London.
How much does London Thames Christmas Lunch Party Cruise cost?
+
Prices start at $75 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in London usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does London Thames Christmas Lunch Party Cruise take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in London is not rushed.
Is London Thames Christmas Lunch Party Cruise worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 39 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3/5 across 3 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in London, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule London Thames Christmas Lunch Party Cruise?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is London Thames Christmas Lunch Party Cruise suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book London Thames Christmas Lunch Party Cruise?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in London can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in London and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does London Thames Christmas Lunch Party Cruise start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central London within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in London?
+
London's best attractions split cleanly: the museums are free and need no booking, so the paid market is about views, theatre and getting out of the city for a day. That makes value scoring unusually important here, and the Outty Ranking penalises anything charging premium prices for access you could get for nothing. On Outty we rank every London experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Soho Music & Historic Pubs Tour, London Small Group Tour of Historical Pubs, The Great British Rock and Roll Walking Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit London?
+
May to September for long evenings, December for the Christmas markets. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in London?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
