The Romance of it!
The gala dinner cruise on board the Diamond on New Year's Eve was lovely. First, champagne as we boarded. Then the pleasant surprise that every couple had a table for four to themselves - the cruise got top marks for that as the tables for two by the windows were limited. There was no pushing and shoving, no overcrowding, you could have been in a high-end restaurant. The staff were so professional, always smiling and polite. The band and the singer were fabulous; they really made the evening extra special with their perfect renderings of 70s and 80s hits. Every fellow customer I spoke to seemed delighted. Food was good - 6 courses including gourmet canapés and a delicious French onion soup - and then up onto the deck at midnight. Looking at all the boats parked around us, stopping just in front of Big Ben illuminated in the colours of the Union Jack as it chimed in the new year and then seeing the fireworks burst out of the London Eye to hooting from the boats and cheers from the crowds on the banks of the Thames was simply unforgettable. Not cheap but worth every penny. Definitely one to save up for.
Response from the operator: Hello SusanBrussels, Thank you so much for your glowing review of our New Year’s Eve gala dinner cruise aboard the Diamond! We’re thrilled to hear you had such a wonderful experience and that every aspect of the evening—from the Champagne welcome to the midnight fireworks—exceeded your expectations. We’re especially glad you appreciated the thoughtful table arrangements, creating a relaxed and high-end atmosphere. It’s wonderful to know that our professional and smiling staff, along with the fabulous band and singer, added that extra sparkle to your evening with their 70s and 80s hits. It’s fantastic that the six-course meal, including the gourmet canapés and French onion soup, hit the mark, and we’re so happy the midnight spectacle was as unforgettable for you as it was for us! Moments like these truly make the celebration special. Your kind words mean the world to us, and we’re so grateful you found the experience worth every penny. We hope to welcome you back aboard soon for another memorable journey! City Cruises

not worth the money
The best thing about this experience was the view but I thought with the amount of money we paid that we’d be close to the London eye and we were quite far, the bride was blocking the view, if you can get tickets to watch it on land, you should. The food was not good and the inside of the boat was much too warm for me.

Memorable New Year's Evening
Excellent cruise on the Thames and a fantastic view of the New Years Eve fireworks. Great service, only negative is they just needed more staff at the bar, long queues formed.
Response from the operator: Hello tonyg681, Thank you for taking the time to write about your New Years Eve Cruise and we are delighted to hear you had a brilliant trip with fantastic views and that you enjoyed the fireworks! Many thanks, and we hope to see you on board again soon! City Cruises

Why this scores 43
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
London New Year's Eve Dinner Cruise: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for London.
How much does London New Year's Eve Dinner Cruise cost?
+
Prices start at $523 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in London usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does London New Year's Eve Dinner Cruise take?
+
Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in London is not rushed.
Is London New Year's Eve Dinner Cruise worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 43 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable food & drink in London, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule London New Year's Eve Dinner Cruise?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is London New Year's Eve Dinner Cruise suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book London New Year's Eve Dinner Cruise?
+
Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in London can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in London and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does London New Year's Eve Dinner Cruise start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central London within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in London?
+
London's best attractions split cleanly: the museums are free and need no booking, so the paid market is about views, theatre and getting out of the city for a day. That makes value scoring unusually important here, and the Outty Ranking penalises anything charging premium prices for access you could get for nothing. On Outty we rank every London experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Soho Music & Historic Pubs Tour, London Small Group Tour of Historical Pubs, The Great British Rock and Roll Walking Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit London?
+
May to September for long evenings, December for the Christmas markets. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in London?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
