Excellent, apart from our start at Blackfriars

A day trip to London , started well a bit iffy we took the last morning departure from Blackfriars pier at 11:30 to head east, although we had about less than ten minutes from the rail station to the jetty to get the boat, although yes we was in a bit of fluster finding the entrance pathway in so here goes …… Now we wasn’t alone here standing on the pier the boat pulled alongside we noted passengers disembarked from the front whilst we was stood I’d say nearer the back of the landing , within less than a minute it departed leaving us and others standing no chance to quickly run to the front embarking point. Ok it might of been a school boy error on our way out we noted a small sign boarding pointing to the separate walkway , Ho well We then went across the bridge to the other pier and headed west instead. So after the slight hiccup, the staff on the boats are helpful , we took coffee and a cookie during our journey up to Battersea then with disembarking went the full run to Barking riverside. Of note there’s some top views to be obtained , more so at high tide the day we went. It’s of note we boarded at 11:45 and got off at 15:30 so to do what we did it’s a fairly long ride out, but it passes by quick. It’s certainly recommended but now I know from the mistake I shall do the full run Putney to Barking riverside next time. Boats have covered seating and a small selection outside covered canopy at the rear

Response from the operator: Hello, Thank you for your review! We are pleased to hear your journey went well despite the earlier disappointing experience. It is great to hear once onboard our staff welcomed you and were helpful. Your comments have been passed to the relevant teams for review. Kind regards Uber Boat by Thames Clippers Team

Purchased the all day, hop on hop off ticket. Excellent value for money, we got on at Embankment, went along to Battersea then all the way to Greenwich and back Al in al around 3hours. We also used it later in the day to return from Canary Wharf after our show.

    Easy travelling

The benefit of travelling by the river, from A-B, taking in all the main venues of London is no traffic jams, no hot buses or underground and the piers are within easy walking distance! I did find out that my day tickets, as freedom pass holder, would have been a lot cheaper had I booked direct with Uber, but it was still cheaper than travelling on the tour boats

    Crowded with complicated timetable

We boarded at Waterloo and missed the 1110 by seconds but were told the next one was in 20 minutes. We actually waited for 40 minutes and boat was very busy. Windows were dirty and there was no seated or standing room on the outside deck. We were told by staff that the boat didn’t return to waterloo so we needed to change at Embankment. There a member of staff be would have to wait in a massive queue to go back one stop, cross the river by bridge, then queue again to get back to Waterloo. We gave up and returned by underground. The Uber boy at Embankment also used to accept our ticket even although it was scanned without a problem when we embarked. We had hoped to travel East too but had to cut our journey short due to being misdirected by various members of staff. Not a disaster but a bit of a mixed bag.

    Not worth the money

We have done the river cruise earlier and uber boat is not a match of it. Very less space on deck and it’s suffocating inside.

London: Hop-On Hop-Off 1 Day River Thames Adventure - Uber Boat: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for London.

How much does London: Hop-On Hop-Off 1 Day River Thames Adventure - Uber Boat cost?

    +

Prices start at $14 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in London usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does London: Hop-On Hop-Off 1 Day River Thames Adventure - Uber Boat take?

    +

Plan for about 24 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in London is not rushed.

Is London: Hop-On Hop-Off 1 Day River Thames Adventure - Uber Boat worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 67 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.1/5 across 792 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in London, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule London: Hop-On Hop-Off 1 Day River Thames Adventure - Uber Boat?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is London: Hop-On Hop-Off 1 Day River Thames Adventure - Uber Boat suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 24-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book London: Hop-On Hop-Off 1 Day River Thames Adventure - Uber Boat?

    +

Around 277 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in London can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in London and add a light layer if any part of the 24-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does London: Hop-On Hop-Off 1 Day River Thames Adventure - Uber Boat start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central London within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in London?

    +

London's best attractions split cleanly: the museums are free and need no booking, so the paid market is about views, theatre and getting out of the city for a day. That makes value scoring unusually important here, and the Outty Ranking penalises anything charging premium prices for access you could get for nothing. On Outty we rank every London experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Soho Music & Historic Pubs Tour, London Small Group Tour of Historical Pubs, The Great British Rock and Roll Walking Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit London?

    +

May to September for long evenings, December for the Christmas markets. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in London?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
