Private tour was too fast
This is the first time the four of us have been in London. Tom was a wealth of knowledge. Our only issue was Tom went too fast for our group. We would have preferred to have the Tour Guide go at a more leisurely pace and cover a few less items and enjoy the tour more. Since this was a private tour, I would recommend the Tour Guide reconfirming what we would like to see and the Pace that we would like to achieve at the start of the tour.
Response from the operator: Hello Jim, We’re really glad Tom’s knowledge made a strong impression and that your first visit to London was memorable in many ways. We’re sorry the pace felt too fast for your group. Your suggestion about aligning expectations at the start is very helpful and will certainly be taken on board. We’d truly appreciate the opportunity in the future to offer you a more relaxed, tailored experience that better matches your preferences. Warm regards, Sheenah and the City Unscripted team

Enjoyed the guide walking...
Enjoyed the guide walking thru the city. Very informative and relaxed atmosphere. Sean made sure we were at the pace we wanted to enjoy.
Response from the operator: We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed your city walk with Sean, and that the tour felt both informative and relaxed. It’s great to know he took the time to match the pace to your comfort—something we always aim for.

Great time in London one on one with a guide!
Tom was a fantastic guide and was incredibly knowledgeable about London and the fascinating history behind it. He took me to lots of cool stuff including London's oldest pub and one of London's oldest wine cellars. He was very fun and entertaining and went the extra mile to show me a good time. My most memorable experience was meeting the gum artist on the Millennium bridge he told me about.
Response from the operator: We're especially thrilled that the meeting with the gum artist on the Millennium Bridge was a memorable highlight. We appreciate your kind words and are glad Tom made your experience so enjoyable!

Excellent Custom Tour
Sandro was an excellent tour guide. His points of interest choices were perfect and he was very personable.

Poor customer service!
We were all set to have the tour and my elderly mother became ill. I sent a message to the guide asking if we could possibly do the tour within the following 2 days. She wrote back stating she was sorry that we would not be able to have our tour and she would let the office know. Without asking if the rest of the group would still like to go she cancelled everything. So we were out $450+ without any further conversation. Most disappointing. Please remind your guides that they need to ask more questions before just making assumptions that cost people money and the experience.

Why this scores 61
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
London Half Day Tour with a Local Guide: Private & Custom: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for London.
How much does London Half Day Tour with a Local Guide: Private & Custom cost?
+
Prices start at $26 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in London usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does London Half Day Tour with a Local Guide: Private & Custom take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in London is not rushed.
Is London Half Day Tour with a Local Guide: Private & Custom worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 61 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.3/5 across 11 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in London, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule London Half Day Tour with a Local Guide: Private & Custom?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is London Half Day Tour with a Local Guide: Private & Custom suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book London Half Day Tour with a Local Guide: Private & Custom?
+
Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in London can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in London and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does London Half Day Tour with a Local Guide: Private & Custom start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central London within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in London?
+
London's best attractions split cleanly: the museums are free and need no booking, so the paid market is about views, theatre and getting out of the city for a day. That makes value scoring unusually important here, and the Outty Ranking penalises anything charging premium prices for access you could get for nothing. On Outty we rank every London experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Soho Music & Historic Pubs Tour, London Small Group Tour of Historical Pubs, The Great British Rock and Roll Walking Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit London?
+
May to September for long evenings, December for the Christmas markets. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in London?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
