About this experience

Led by a born-and-bred Londoner and British Cycling-qualified guide, your adventure begins at the iconic Battersea Power Station before you set off on a premium Giant electric bike along approximately 90% traffic-free riverside paths, parks and green spaces. Escape the crowds and discover a quieter, greener side of London as you explore Battersea Park, the River Thames, historic Putney and the spectacular landscapes of Richmond Park. The highlight is Richmond Park—London's largest Royal Park and the closest you'll get to the English countryside without leaving the capital. Once part of the royal hunting grounds, it is now home to hundreds of free-roaming deer, ancient woodland and stunning views. This is London's hidden wild side—a timeless landscape where centuries of royal history, ancient woodland and free-roaming deer combine to create an experience most tourists never realise exists. Deer are regularly seen, although, as wild animals, their location naturally varies.

What you'll see and do

  1. Battersea Power Station

We begin our journey at the striking Battersea Power Station on the Thames, one of London’s most iconic landmarks. After a friendly welcome and safety briefing, we take a short ride around the redeveloped Power Station complex. Here you’ll hear the story of its transformation — from a coal-fired station powering much of London, to a cultural icon in music and film, and now a vibrant riverside destination. This first stop sets the scene, combining cycling with stories that bring London’s past and present to life before we head out along the river.

    25 minutes here

  2. Battersea Park

Next, we cycle into Battersea Park, one of London’s most beautiful green spaces along the Thames. Riding at an easy pace, we explore peaceful tree-lined paths, ornamental gardens, and lakes alive with wildlife. The park offers a quieter, scenic contrast to the bustle of the city, with plenty of photo opportunities along the riverside and within its landscaped grounds. It’s the perfect place to slow the pace, enjoy the fresh air, and experience a more relaxed side of London before continuing our journey towards Putney.

    40 minutes here

  3. Putney Bridge

Leaving Battersea Park, we turn up the energy with carefully selected music playing through a portable speaker as we ride the lively stretch of the Thames Path towards Putney. This part of the journey brings us alongside the famous riverside rowing clubs, where you can often see crews out training on the water — a true slice of London sporting life. Across the river you’ll spot Fulham Football Club’s stadium, while the riverside pubs and boathouses of Putney add to the vibrant atmosphere. We pause at Putney Bridge to enjoy the views before continuing our scenic route deeper into southwest London.

    25 minutes here

  4. Richmond Park

From Putney we continue into Richmond Park, London's largest Royal Park and the highlight of the ride. Spanning 2,500 acres, it feels like a countryside escape within the city. We cycle at a relaxed pace through open grasslands and quiet woodland trails, taking in different areas of the park along the way. Keep an eye out for the famous herds of red and fallow deer that roam freely, and depending on the route that day, we may pause by one of the park's tranquil lakes or make our way up to King Henry's Mound — a protected viewpoint with far-reaching views across London and beyond. With around 75–90 minutes inside the park, there's plenty of time to enjoy the natural beauty and capture memorable moments before we loop back round and make our way back towards Battersea.

    75 minutes here

  5. Putney Bridge

To complete the journey, we cycle back the way we came — retracing the Thames Path through Putney and Battersea Park, taking in the riverside views from a fresh perspective as the afternoon light shifts. This final stretch gives us time to unwind and reflect on the day's ride before arriving back at Battersea Power Station, our starting point. It's a relaxed, scenic way to finish the tour, with the Thames as your constant companion the whole way home.

London - Richmond, a dream!

Simply the best bike tour we have done in European capitals in recent years. Wonderful!

Response from the operator: Carlos, thank you so much for your wonderful review! It was a real pleasure meeting you and Maria and sharing Richmond Park and the beautiful riverside cycle routes with you. Your review translates to *"London–Richmond, a dream! Simply the best bike tour we've done in European capitals in recent years. Wonderful!"* Those words truly mean a lot to a small independent business like ours. We're delighted you enjoyed discovering a quieter, greener side of London, and we hope you both had a fantastic time exploring Bath and the rest of the UK. You're always welcome back whenever you're in London again. We'd love to see you both for another ride in the future. Safe travels, and thank you again for choosing South London Riverside E-Bike Tours!

I came from Santander,...

I came from Santander, Spain to visit family and my aunt booked this tour. it turned out to be the best day of my trip. I never imagined London could be so green and full of surprises. We started at Battersea Power Station, then cycled through Battersea Park where James told us about the old funfair and even a zoo where elephants once escaped! We stopped at the Peace Pagoda overlooking the Thames before riding past Chelsea Harbour and seeing a helicopter land at London’s busiest heliport. The highlight was Richmond Park — getting so close to wild stags and deer, with views stretching all the way to St Paul’s Cathedral. In Richmond town I tried fish and chips for the first time and explored the old castle before finishing the day with a scenic Uber Thames Clipper ride back along the river. James was an excellent guide, mixing history, nature and local stories with plenty of time to enjoy the views. I’d highly recommend this to anyone — it’s a side of London most people never get to see. – Abuish, 18, Santander, Spain

Response from the operator: Thank you, Abuish. It was a pleasure showing you a different side of London during your visit from Santander. I'm delighted you enjoyed discovering Battersea Park, the Peace Pagoda, Richmond Park and its incredible deer. One of my favourite parts of guiding is helping guests experience places that many visitors never get to see, and it sounds like you made the most of the day, including your first fish and chips and Thames Clipper ride. Thank you for choosing the tour and for taking the time to leave such a wonderful review. Safe travels and I hope to welcome you back to London again in the future.

London E Bike Tour Richmond Park Deer and Hidden Gems: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for London.

How much does London E Bike Tour Richmond Park Deer and Hidden Gems cost?

+

Prices start at $69 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in London usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does London E Bike Tour Richmond Park Deer and Hidden Gems take?

+

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in London is not rushed.

Is London E Bike Tour Richmond Park Deer and Hidden Gems worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 60 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 2 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in London, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule London E Bike Tour Richmond Park Deer and Hidden Gems?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is London E Bike Tour Richmond Park Deer and Hidden Gems suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 18. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 3-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book London E Bike Tour Richmond Park Deer and Hidden Gems?

+

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in London can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in London and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does London E Bike Tour Richmond Park Deer and Hidden Gems start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central London within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in London?

+

London's best attractions split cleanly: the museums are free and need no booking, so the paid market is about views, theatre and getting out of the city for a day. That makes value scoring unusually important here, and the Outty Ranking penalises anything charging premium prices for access you could get for nothing. On Outty we rank every London experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Soho Music & Historic Pubs Tour, London Small Group Tour of Historical Pubs, The Great British Rock and Roll Walking Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit London?

+

May to September for long evenings, December for the Christmas markets. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in London?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
