    About this experience

Take part in the only plastic-free Food Tour to support family-restaurants in Alfama. With unique products, in limited series, handmade, homemade, or even dishes that have won culinary competitions! *** Hi I’m Ruthy! If you book my tour you may meet me, my husband Marcio or my friends Francisco, João, Héloïse,! :-) I’m 29 and I’m a real foodie. I live in Lisbon & I'm in love with the city, its culture & its gastronomy. That’s why I’ve founded my very own 18-tastings food experience company here, called Treasures of Lisboa. I want to take you off the beaten paths, in Lisbon’s most narrow streets, to taste the best Portuguese dishes & drinks in authentic places. Join the fun! Come with me and taste the best of Lisbon! Wine, charcuterie, typical pastries and many other gastronomic pearls will ensure you take in authentic and picturesque Portugal. Get lost in a labyrinth of winding alleys, full of hidden treasures. Let yourself be transported by the soft light of Alfama and stroll through aromas and flavors that will touch all your senses. Here, gastronomy is, in its richness and authenticity, a hymn to the spirit of Lisbon. OUR COMMITMENT IS ALSO SOCIAL: - No plastic tour: we’re the 1st ones in Lisbon to have banished all kind of plastic from our experience. - We respect local people: no more than 12 persons on our tour! We’re integrated in the local community: the grannies of Alfama love us ;-) - We’re currently establishing a partnership with Re-food a community that works to eliminate food waste and hunger in each neighborhood of Lisbon. More info coming soon! We’re proud to be the first Portuguese gastronomic tour of Alfama but we’re more than just a food tour, come and see by yourself.

    Great tour

Great introduction of traditional Portuguese food mixed with some more familiar options. Be prepared for many steps (mostly downhill). We enjoyed getting to experience the smaller family run restaurants out of the center city crowds. We had a great time and the location is perfect for after tour strolling.

    The secrets of Alfama

What a fantastic tour with the lovely Francisco! We started off in a brilliant spot and then wandered our way through the old streets of Alfama, picking up fascinating little snippets of local life along the way, as well as some very handy tips for finding our way around Lisbon after the tour. And the food… absolutely delicious! The portions were spot on — generous enough to leave us feeling nicely satisfied, but not so much that we needed to be rolled home. There was just enough room to enjoy every stop, which is quite the achievement when there’s so much lovely food involved! We came away with full bellies, lots of great memories and a real taste of Lisbon. Thank you so much, Francisco, for making our Lisbon experience extra special!

Lisbon Small-Group Food Tour with 18 Tastings in Alfama District: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Lisbon.

How much does Lisbon Small-Group Food Tour with 18 Tastings in Alfama District cost?

    +

Prices start at $105 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Lisbon usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Lisbon Small-Group Food Tour with 18 Tastings in Alfama District take?

    +

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Lisbon is not rushed.

Is Lisbon Small-Group Food Tour with 18 Tastings in Alfama District worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 89 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 2,094 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Lisbon, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Lisbon Small-Group Food Tour with 18 Tastings in Alfama District?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Lisbon Small-Group Food Tour with 18 Tastings in Alfama District suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Lisbon Small-Group Food Tour with 18 Tastings in Alfama District?

    +

Around 733 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Lisbon can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Lisbon and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Lisbon Small-Group Food Tour with 18 Tastings in Alfama District start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Lisbon within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Lisbon?

    +

On Outty we rank every Lisbon experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Lisbon City Center Tour - The Unmissable Lisbon, Sintra Private Trip from Lisbon Customizable Dreamlike Experience, True 4Hour Private Tuk Tuk Tour: Discover Lisbon with a Local!. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Lisbon?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Lisbon?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
