Hawkshead is a charming medieval village full of narrow alleys and characterful squares. It is home to a grammar school which was established back in 1585 and where the famous English poet, William Wordsworth went to school. Overlooking the village on a hill, you can also find St Michael and All Angels Church, that has been there since 16th century. Whilst we're talking about Hawkshead we also must mention the delicious Hawkshead Relish Company, which is definitely worth a visit! Hawkshead is a village where you get a real sense of history and it is a great place to explore, which is why we include it in so many of our tours.

Tarn Hows
You will have time to take in the stunning scenery at Coniston before heading to Tarn How’s. Tarn Hows is another one of the Lake District's hidden gems. It has been the inspiration for many artists and writers and once you visit, you will understand why. After admiring the views, the tour will then take you to the final stop which is a trip to Hawkshead.

Coniston is a beautiful village which is well known for Coniston Water and Donald Campbell CBE, who broke the world water speed record of 276mph. You might also catch a glimpse of a Steam Yacht Gondala that's a rebuilt Victorian steam powered yacht that offers cruises on Coniston Water.

Nightmare
I had to call Viator to get Evens tours to send me the train tickets. I never got instructions. When I got off the train there was no Evens guide. I called Evens and as I spelled out my name on the phone the man next to me talking on his phone said “I was calling to find you.” It was a different tour company. 2 days earlier I arrived at another Evens tour pickup spot only to be told it was cancelled. No notification.

Pass on this one!!
This was a terrible tour. I booked 5 tours this trip via Viator and this was by far the worst. All other tours that I booked were 5 stars and this was sub-par. Why? 1. Mike, our guide did not have a sign when met in the train station. We had to search for him in the parking lot. His excuse was that he would know how to find us. 2. He spoke as if he had marbles in his mouth. We had no issues with any other tour guide. 3. His history of the area was all over the place and not well organized. 4. Some stops didn't allow for much time, one stop was 5 minutes 5. We arrived in the lake district for lunch at 2:50 and all the cafes closed at 3:00. Needless to say, we didn't have lunch. 6. The cream tea was 1 1/2 hours which should have been 1/2 hour and the extra hour could have been used for exploring and shopping. Most of the trip seemed very rushed other than the Beatrix Potter tour which was very pleasant and time well spent.

Amazing! Would defs recommend
Peter was excellent. He has amazing knowledge and is really good at story telling! He made good conversation, was clear with instructions, and has amazing driving skills haha! Loved every bit of it! I loved how the company explained everything from start to finish about the travels to and from Euston station and Oxenholme station. This was very helpful!! Would definitely recommend!

Despicable don't recommend at all
After not being able to the find the tickets in time ; I missed my train and missed the entire tour. I reached out to the company for a refund to my disgust they just took my $600aud and laughed all the way to the bank. Despicable
