Affordable day hike
We had an absolutely incredible 7-day luxury trip with Serengeti Wildlife Safaris! The experience was perfectly organized from start to finish, with excellent service, comfortable accommodations, and an amazing safari team. We spent 6 unforgettable days exploring Tanzania’s beautiful national parks, including Tarangire, Ngorongoro, and the Serengeti. We saw incredible wildlife, including elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, and many more. Our safari guide was very knowledgeable, friendly, and made every game drive exciting and memorable. The highlight was our final day a Kilimanjaro day hike via the Marangu Route. The scenery was breathtaking, the experience was adventurous and attractive, and reaching the mountain was an unforgettable way to finish our trip. A huge thank you to Serengeti Wildlife Safaris for making our Tanzania adventure so special. Everything was handled professionally, and we felt safe, comfortable, and well cared for throughout the journey. Highly recommended! If you are planning a luxury safari and Kilimanjaro experience in Tanzania, Serengeti Wildlife Safaris is an excellent choice!

Kilimanjaro Marangu route trek with family in rainy season
Post a great safari with Serengeti Wildlife Safari across 4 parks, our family went on a 2 day trek to Kilimanjaro on Marangu route. We wanted to try 2 or 3 day trek prior to planning a trip to the summit in a year or so. Our overall experience was super-good (bit adventurous given the continuous rain) with Serengeti Wildlife Safari team. Given the continuous rain, we were under prepared. The staff and guides helped us with warmer sleeping bags for the stay, got us the missing gears and carried most of our stuff on the ascend and descend. They brought hot water to the tent and even served hot coffee to the tent bunker for our kids. The chef prepared vegetarian food given our dietary restriction. Guides Mathew and Daniel were exceptional (both have significant Kilimanjaro experience with few hundred climbs). We highly recommend Serengeti Wildlife Safari and look forward to returning on a climb to the summit.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful experience with us. We’re absolutely delighted that your family safari across four parks, combined with your 2-day trek on Mount Kilimanjaro via the Marangu Route, was such a positive and memorable adventure. Taking a shorter trek as preparation for a future summit attempt is a very smart approach, and we’re honored you trusted Serengeti Wildlife Safaris to be part of that journey. We truly admire your spirit, especially trekking during continuous rain. Mountain conditions can be unpredictable, and we’re proud that our team was able to step in quickly providing warmer sleeping bags, arranging missing gear, assisting with carrying equipment, and ensuring your family stayed comfortable throughout. Small touches like hot water at the tent and serving hot coffee to your children are part of our commitment to care, especially when families are involved. We’re also very pleased that our chef was able to accommodate your vegetarian dietary requirements seamlessly. Proper nutrition on the mountain is essential, and we take that responsibility seriously. Your kind words about Guides Mathew and Daniel mean a great deal. Their extensive Kilimanjaro experience and dedication to safety, encouragement, and guest comfort are exactly what define a strong mountain team. Thank you for your high recommendation. We truly look forward to welcoming you back for your full summit climb and when that time comes, we’ll be ready to take you all the way to Uhuru Peak. Warm regards, John Danford Serengeti Wildlife Safaris

Summit Dreams. A Brief Sojourn on Kilimanjaro's Majestic Slopes
a two-day adventure in the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro was a truly exhilarating experience. The breathtaking landscapes, from lush rainforests to barren alpine deserts, offered a diverse visual feast. The trek challenged both body and mind, with steep ascents and unpredictable weather keeping things exciting. Our expert guides ensured safety and shared fascinating insights into the region's ecology. Camping under star-studded skies near Horombo Hut was a highlight, providing a surreal connection with nature. While the brief duration limited us to the lower altitudes, the taste of Kilimanjaro's grandeur left an indelible mark, making this a memorable short escape.
Response from the operator: Hello Big lady Nasra this is nice and amazing feedback we remembered how familiar you was thanks and your welcome for the next fully hike to the top of Kilimanjaro

Why this scores 58
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Kilimanjaro Private 2 Days Hiking Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Arusha.
How much does Kilimanjaro Private 2 Days Hiking Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $1090 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Arusha usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Kilimanjaro Private 2 Days Hiking Tour take?
+
Plan for about 48 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Arusha is not rushed.
Is Kilimanjaro Private 2 Days Hiking Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 58 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 12 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable family friendly in Arusha, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Kilimanjaro Private 2 Days Hiking Tour?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is Kilimanjaro Private 2 Days Hiking Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 48-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Kilimanjaro Private 2 Days Hiking Tour?
+
Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Arusha can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Arusha and add a light layer if any part of the 48-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Kilimanjaro Private 2 Days Hiking Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Arusha within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Arusha?
+
On Outty we rank every Arusha experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Materuni Waterfalls, coffee tour & Kikuletwa Hot Springs, 4 Days Group Camping Safari, 3 Days Serengeti & Ngorongoro Group Camping Safari. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Arusha?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Arusha?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
