    Climb with Tusker!

Great outfit. Tusker excels in taking care of your individual needs. The tents are of good quality and good height. So are their duffel bags. They do a good job in taking care of your niche requirements.

Response from the operator: You’ve captured exactly what matters—the small details that make a climb personal. I’m glad the tents, duffels, and care hit the mark for you. Thanks for sharing your journey with us. – Eddie

    Trip of a lifetime!

From the moment I set foot in Tanzania, I knew I was in for something extraordinary—but nothing could have prepared me for just how transformative this journey would be. Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro and then heading straight into a safari was the perfect blend of challenge, beauty, and wonder. Mount Kilimanjaro: The climb itself was nothing short of magical. Each day brought a new landscape—from lush rainforest trails filled with monkeys and exotic birds, to the surreal alpine desert and finally the glacier-capped summit. The sense of camaraderie among climbers, the encouragement from our TUSKER TRAILS incredible guides, and the sheer exhilaration of reaching Peak made it one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. It was physically demanding, but every ache and step was worth the breathtaking views and the overwhelming sense of accomplishment. The Safari: After the climb, the safari was the perfect way to relax and soak in the natural splendor of East Africa. We visited Serengeti National Park and the Ngorongoro Crater, and both were teeming with wildlife. We saw the Big Five up close—lions lounging in the sun, elephants roaming peacefully, a leopard stalking it's prey, a cheetah with her cub and rhinos and buffaloes in their natural element. The scenery was like something out of a dream, with beautiful Acacia trees stretching into the horizon and endless skies painted in dramatic hues at sunset. The People: What made the trip even more special were the people—our Tusker Trails guides, Nemes and Libby (always upbeat and encouraging), the porters, chef and drivers were knowledgeable, kind, and deeply passionate about sharing their country’s beauty. Their warmth made us feel like family. If you're looking for an experience that will challenge you, inspire you, and leave you with stories for a lifetime, climbing Kilimanjaro followed by a safari is it. This wasn’t just a vacation—it was a journey of the soul.

Response from the operator: Thank you for your incredible words! We're honored to have shared this life-changing journey with you—from summit to safari. Huge kudos to our entire crew for making it unforgettable. Your story captures everything we strive for at Tusker Trail. Here’s to more adventures ahead.

    Perfect Kili Climb

My husband and I juste came back from Kili. We summited with a group of friend in February 2020. Our experience was amazing and everything was made possible because of the crew. We felt very safe going to the summit with the Tusker team, the medical check ups every day made sure everyone was ont track. The food was incredible. The best team on the mountain for sure!

    Kili Climb

We selected Tusker Trail for our Kilimanjaro ascent based on a review of multiple outfits leading trips up the mountain. We clearly made the right choice. The guides were well trained and experienced on the mountain and made every effort to see to our safety and a successful ascent. The equipment (tents, air mattresses, hiking gear, clothing, etc.) Tusker provided was of good quality and enhanced our experience. Tusker made every effort to meet all of our needs. There were nine hikers in our group and Tusker provided 41 porters. When we came off the trail each day our camp was fully set up and we were provided with a sufficient selection and quantity of food in the mess tent. We had two health checks per day including a check of our oxygen saturation and heart rate and a series of questions relative to altitude problems. As a 74 year old cancer survivor with multiple joint replacements the odds of summiting would seem to be stacked against me, but with the additional support of Liberty, Abraham, Kessy and Stan my successful ascent/descent was assured. Kudos also go to Jaime, Mel and the other Tusker staff in the US for organizing our trip, including gorilla tracking in Uganda. They put together a wonderful safari for my wife while I was on the mountain and timed her return so she could meet me as I came off the mountain. We then traveled on to Uganda. My wife and I were completely pleased with our Africa experience with Tusker Trail.

Response from the operator: On behalf of our entire Tusker Trail team I want to thank you for sharing this amazing review about your adventure experience with us. This is the kind of review we all live for, and we will share this with the U.S. and Africa team members you mentioned. Our guides especially love reviews like this. We definitely pride ourselves on being the leaders in safety, service and hospitality and we couldn't be more thrilled that you noticed all the big and little things. We could go on thanking you for everything you've mentioned, but you've really said it all. We are just thankful that you, and your wife, got everything you possibly wanted from your Kilimanjaro Climb and your Safari Experience. Congratulations on your amazing summit!!! You're now part of the Kilimanjaro summit and Tusker family. Again, thank you so much for choosing us... Cheers, Erick Tusker Trail Coordinator

Kilimanjaro Climb & Safari - Lemosho Route - 13 Day: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Moshi.

How much does Kilimanjaro Climb & Safari - Lemosho Route - 13 Day cost?

    +

Prices start at $8,188 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Moshi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Kilimanjaro Climb & Safari - Lemosho Route - 13 Day take?

    +

Plan for about 312 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Moshi is not rushed.

Is Kilimanjaro Climb & Safari - Lemosho Route - 13 Day worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 68 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 12 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Moshi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Kilimanjaro Climb & Safari - Lemosho Route - 13 Day?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Kilimanjaro Climb & Safari - Lemosho Route - 13 Day suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 312-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Kilimanjaro Climb & Safari - Lemosho Route - 13 Day?

    +

Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Moshi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Moshi and add a light layer if any part of the 312-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Kilimanjaro Climb & Safari - Lemosho Route - 13 Day start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Moshi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Moshi?

    +

On Outty we rank every Moshi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Materuni Waterfall, Coffee Tour and Picnic Hot Lunch, Materuni Waterfall and Coffee Plantation Half Day Tour, Kilimanjaro climb, Machame Route (7-day). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Moshi?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Moshi?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
