A company that cares about its clients as well as it's community.
Special shout out. Excellent adventure, I was a bit worried flying out solo, but the organization of the trip made it simple. I was picked up form airport, accommodated nicely at the Altezza hotel prior to trip, well communicated as to what time is orientation and start time, met with others in the group that I was joining, and then went on the climb. The Guide and the support staff were easy to speak with and always smiling even when some of the porters were carrying a giant duffel bag on their head) the meals were great and safety checks were done daily. I dropped my glove into the hole of the outhouse the day before summit, but the staff loaned me a pair as it seems like they had extras of everything fur the people like me that are a bit clumsy :) (I wasn't going to try to fish it out) The day after the adventure I asked Altezza if I could rent a driver /translator to take me to help out at a local orphanage, and even something impromptu that is not their normal trip they were able to accommodate. Since then I have been involved with the local children's home and Altezza travel has been gracious to assist in giving back to the local community with trips and employee, transportation, and food support for the less fortunate. Way to go Altezza!!! It is nice to see that a company not only cares about the money.

2nd Time with Altezza - They Are the Best
This was my second trip up to the summit of Kilimanjaro with Altezza. Stop looking and book with them. This is a great company, with very good client care, safety and mission. From start to finish, there is great communication. Once you land in Tanzania, this continues. I had to change my pick-up last minute, and they accommodated without cost. The staff are extremely friendly and professional, and their main mission is your safety (first) and of course comfort. The gear they provide, including tents, toilet tents and the group dining tent are all very good. Now a few words on the Rongai route...I had done the Lemosho route 2 years ago, and wanted something new. This was totally different, mostly due to climate. You'll be approaching Kili from the north and it's alpine desert. I even got a bit sunburned. The other routes may get rain, which we didn't experience even once. Please note this is highly dependent on season too. I would do it again!
Response from the operator: Thank you for your wonderful review! Earning the trust of a returning guest means a great deal to us. We’re truly happy to have been able to deliver consistently good service on both of your climbs. We’re also glad you got to experience a different side of the mountain on the Rongai route and took the time to share your impressions here - your feedback is incredibly valuable. Each route truly has its own character and unique features worth exploring. Hopefully, your story will inspire someone else to discover Kilimanjaro from a new perspective! If you ever wish to come back for round three, you will always be welcome.

The most amazing team
We did the Kilimanjaro hike in 7 days by the Rongai routes. By choosing Altezza, we got the best team we could ever imagine ! The entire team, which is porters, guides, chief, waiter, all of them were so nice and welcoming. Imrani, Philemone and Ally were our guides during the trip. They were just AMAZING. They are real caregiver, supportive, and very professionals. The night of the summit we had a whole team with us. As we were a group of seven, they were seven people with us, our 3 guides, 2 assistants guides, and two summit assistants. We felt so safe with them, they really gave all of their energy to help us reach the summit. The organisation was perfect, we felt very safe with them. Medical checks were done twice a day, which allowed us to talk about everything. Also they provide us with a packing list which was very usefull and accurate. They also offer the possibility to rent clothes and hiking gears. The chief cooked us very great meals (special shoutout to his amaaazings chapatis). As a vegetarian, every meal was complete and nutritious and I ate delicious meals every days. I can only recommend to book your trip with Altezza if you have planned to do the Kilimanjaro hike to the summit !

Altezza = Excellence!
We enjoyed a private adventure including Moshi and Arusha shopping, the Kilimanjaro Rongai 7 Day Route, Tarangire National Park, Balloon, and Ngorongoro Crater safaris, and a Zanzibar holiday. Altezza is Excellence! From initial planning through final airport transfers, the entire Altezza team is knowledgeable, professional, kind, and so much FUN! During our planning, we were able to evaluate the various routes, tent choices, and water options. Altezza’s planning portal, packing lists, informative videos, and articles made our preparation convenient and orderly. Our special meal requests were graciously accommodated. Asante Deogratius! All our questions were thoroughly answered. Asante Nadia! The solid rental gear and comprehensive gear check process was reassuring. I was able to use gear I’d brought and greatly reduce the items I needed to rent. The mountain team even did a pre-summit gear check for our specific summit attempt conditions. On our walks, our guides shared cool stories of Tanzanian history, fables, and culture. Asante Jonas! The medical skill of the Altezza guides kept our team safe during a couple health challenges. Altezza provided oxygen, monitored vitals, coordinated 3 modes of transport, and had an Altezza manager with us at the hospital to make the process as easy as possible. Asanteni sana Benedict, Jonas, Regis, and Samson!!! The warm Tanzanian hospitality extended far beyond the Altezza team through their carefully chosen lodge, camp, hotel, and balloon partners. The entire adventure was filled with so many thoughtful touches and enjoyable surprises! Altezza Bunnies ROCK! The dedication and hard work of the entire Altezza team made every success possible and memorable! A Truly Perfect Experience with Altezza Travel!
A Truly Perfect Experience with Altezza Travel! From the moment we arrived at the Altezza lodge, everything was perfect! The attention to detail and impeccable service were simply incredible. Then came our Rongai Route climb. Our guides—Nelson, Mongi, Lema, and Eleakim—made us feel safe and cared for every step of the way. They were attentive, patient with all our questions, and expertly guided us "pole pole" (slowly, slowly) to the summit of Kilimanjaro. Without them, it would have been impossible. The entire team, including Ezequiel, Maturo, Frederick, the amazing chefs, and all the porters, were always smiling and ready to help without us even asking. There are no words to thank them enough! As a company, Altezza exceeded all our expectations. The entire experience was first-class—you truly can't ask for more. I would give everything an 11 out of 10 if I could! This company is 100% recommended. — Gustavo Cohen Imach

Kilimanjaro climb, Rongai Route (7-day): questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Moshi.
How much does Kilimanjaro climb, Rongai Route (7-day) cost?
+
Prices start at $2165 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Moshi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Kilimanjaro climb, Rongai Route (7-day) take?
+
Plan for about 216 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Moshi is not rushed.
Is Kilimanjaro climb, Rongai Route (7-day) worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 82 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 54 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Moshi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Kilimanjaro climb, Rongai Route (7-day)?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Kilimanjaro climb, Rongai Route (7-day) suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 13. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 216-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Kilimanjaro climb, Rongai Route (7-day)?
+
Around 19 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Moshi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Moshi and add a light layer if any part of the 216-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Kilimanjaro climb, Rongai Route (7-day) start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Moshi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Moshi?
+
On Outty we rank every Moshi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Materuni Waterfall, Coffee Tour and Picnic Hot Lunch, Climbing Kilimanjaro through 7 days Machame Route, Kilimanjaro Lemosho Route. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Moshi?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Moshi?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
