Swaymbhunath
The trip begins with a private vehicle that goes to Swayambhu, also known as Monkey Temple because of the abundance of Rhesus monkeys that call this place home. It's up to the long stairs to the top of the hill where there is an incredible overlook of the Kathmandu Valley. On top is a large stupa as well as a number of Hindu temples. Your guide will explain the unique synergy between Buddhism and Hinduism in Nepal.

Kathmandu Durbar Square
The next stop is Kathmandu Durbar Square, which is home of almost 60 temples, old royal palace, museum and a chance to see The Kumari or Living Goddess. The trip to Kathmandu Durbar Square also includes a side visit to the Hippie Mecca of Freak Street. It was here in the late 60s and early 70s that the Hippies found legal marijuana and spiritual experiences. The hippies, along with the legal marijuana are now gone, but the place now features interesting little boutique shops and eateries.

Truly delightful experience
Our guide Ananta was truly delightful. He was extremely knowledgeable and informative. He answered all of our questions and shared interesting historical facts and stories including information about Nepal at large, not just the sites that we were visiting. He rearranged the order of the tour to accommodate traffic around our hotel and also offered to take us shopping for wedding shoes. He negotiated for us and allowed us to take our time, which extended well beyond the scheduled tour time. We would highly recommend Ananta as a tour guide!

Ananta rocks!
Our guide Ananta was superbly knowledgeable about each site we went to and gave a lot of details the whole day about Nepal as a whole as well. We felt very safe and well taken care of all day. Ananta is also an amazing person and we were really grateful to meet him and hear about his life.

GREAT tour, well worth it!!!
This tour was well worth it! Our guide Ananta was amazing. He was incredibly knowledgeable, sharing so many stories and insights at every location. We learned so much and the tour helped us understand the culture and rituals at each site in so much more depth than we would have just visiting on our own. Having the driver was super helpful and Ananta helped us navigate walking through the busy streets. We enjoyed a wonderful lunch at the Boudhanath Stupa. We needed to shop for wedding shoes after the tour and Ananta took us shopping in a nearby place. He really went above and beyond to make our day special and memorable. He also made sure to take tons of pictures of us throughout the tour. We would HIGHLY recommend this tour and ask for Ananta as your guide!!

World Heritage Tour
Kabita was SO knowledgeable of the Neplalese history, it was fascinating to listen her recite all she knew about her home and the ancient history she possessed. She was caring, considerate and always made the day about me and what I wanted. She was very accommodating. The driver was lovely and had a very clean car. I couldn’t recommend Kabita enough! 5 stars
