Traveler reviews
2 verified traveler reviews for Isla Mujeres Platinum Experience Catamaran from Cancun. Ratings and reviews provided by Viator and Tripadvisor.
Different from the product they sell us. Not very safe.
Plus: Kind staff and great service for drinks.. It is beautiful and the dishes on l they are excellent! Less: -although we're on a Catamaran and they raise a sail for 20 minutes during the day... it's no sail at all. The engine is tjrs in operation and the sail not even adjusted for propulsion (100% trim in clear terms) Snorkling is a joke. 20 min tied by rope to the mandatory group and one size life jacket mandatory. A real joke what... -boarding is completely unsafe and the team is in a hurry to get everyone out and in, which has resulted in one person falling and hurting himself. If you have any mobility problems, I advise against it. The docks are all hooked and not safe on the island. Planks seem to want to give way and hold pain and misery and a concrete dock is broken in 2 and 20 degrees of being at the level. No handles to hold you when you get home and you get pushed to do it fast. My disappointment comes mainly from the fact that we were sold a sailing expedition and traditional snorkling, even on their brochure, people have no float jackets and are not attached... false representation. I would recommend it to those who want to take beautiful pictures and see the landscape a little. But definitely not for a sailing or snorkling enthusiast. In the end we park on the Island at the public market for 1h20 without being able to return on the boat does not seem to have been appreciated by many people either. Everyone would have liked to leave but we were forced to stay in the city center being harassed by pressure sellers who kept letting us go...

AVOID PLAYA NORTH at isla mujeres
The first beach very small but all included food and drinks are nice great service. Only issue is bird eating off the food pan on the buffet is disgusting. The second beach playa North seems like a public beach WAY TOO MANY PEOPLE and every shade spot you have to PAY I have never seen this in many years of travelling that we need to pay for shade spots. that's inhumain. Also very dirty garbages everywhere between the boats that are on the beach I wouls not recommend going to playa north.
Response from the operator: Hello, thank you for sharing the experience There are no birds anywhere near the food, there might be some birds eathing from the trashcans but even that is rare. Playa Norte is a public beach, there is no such thing as a private beach in Mexico. The "shade spots" are from furniture provided by restaurants or clubs nearby. Those are only for pay customers We don't know where you went on your many years of travel, but it's odd that you don't know these facts Seeing trash bags at trash cans at a public place is not odd We are sorry that you were expecting an empty private beach with public umbrellas and empty trash cans. We'll do our best to improve the tour

Why this scores 50
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Isla Mujeres Platinum Experience Catamaran from Cancun: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cancun.
How much does Isla Mujeres Platinum Experience Catamaran from Cancun cost?
+
Prices start at $133 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cancun usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Isla Mujeres Platinum Experience Catamaran from Cancun take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cancun is not rushed.
Is Isla Mujeres Platinum Experience Catamaran from Cancun worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 50 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3/5 across 2 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cancun, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Isla Mujeres Platinum Experience Catamaran from Cancun?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Isla Mujeres Platinum Experience Catamaran from Cancun suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Isla Mujeres Platinum Experience Catamaran from Cancun?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cancun can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cancun and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Isla Mujeres Platinum Experience Catamaran from Cancun start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cancun within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Cancun?
+
On Outty we rank every Cancun experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Early Access to Chichen Itza All Inclusive with Valladolid and Cenote Swim, Whale Shark Tour from Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Tulum and Riviera Maya, Small-Group 3 Hidden Cenotes Adventure with Tequila Tasting. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Cancun?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cancun?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
