    Blue Mountains/Hunter Valley Weekend Experience

We had overseas visitors here to surprise my husband for his Birthday. We wanted to incorporate both the Blue Mountains and the Hunter Valley. Mike was amazing! He collected us from our door, drove us to the Mountains for a tour, arranged Scenic World and then collected us the next morning to transfer us to The Hunter Valley. He arranged all the wine tasting and made it all so seamless. We also did a Hot Air Balloon ride on the Monday and Mike then transported us back to Sydney to the door. Absolutely the best weekend. Mike is professional, reliable and knowledgeable. He made planning this surprise so easy and great value. Could not recommend Mike and Beyond Tours any more highly!!!

Response from the operator: Thank you Larissa for this fantastic review. It was a great weekend away in both beautiful Blue Mountains and the relaxing Hunter Valley too. It was my pleasure to help make it a memorable holiday for your lovely family. Mike

Fantastic Day in the Hunter Valley with Go Beyond Tours

We had an amazing time with Go Beyond Tours on our trip to the Hunter Valley in April! Everything was well-organised, relaxed, and fun from start to finish. Our guide, Mike, was absolutely fantastic , the selection of wineries was excellent, offering a nice variety of wines and beautiful settings. Highly recommend Go Beyond Tours if you're heading to the Hunter Valley — and if you get Mike as your guide, you're in for a great day!

Response from the operator: Thank you Susana for this amazing review. I am delighted you had such a memorable time in the wonderful Hunter Valley. Mike

    A fun Day

Mike was really great - it was a great day, 3 good wineries ( Vinden was our favorite) and an entertaining ride.Mike stopped for Kangaroo pics which delighted the girls! Thanks for a great day.

Response from the operator: Thank you for your fantastic review. It was a really great day with lovely weather and getting to see the many Kangaroos around the gorgeous Hunter Valley vineyards :) Mike

    Enjoyable day trip

Enjoyable day visiting wineries. Vehicle was a bit dated but clean and comfortable. Our driver/guide James was good and got us there and back safely and made an effort to ensure that we saw some kangaroos in the wild. Wine tastings were very good and informative. Lunch at the pub was good and at a nice pub. Viator decription listed national park fees included in the detailed list of inclusions but there was no national park on the itinerary.

Response from the operator: Thank you Carlos for your lovely review. I am glad James looked after you well and you enjoyed the wonderful vistas and wineries of the Hunter Valley. Thanks for pointing it out, but here are no National Parks on this tour , and I will correct this typo. Mike

    Disappointing wine tour

We booked our private wine tour day several months in advance and gave clear descriptions of what we were looking for on our winery day. I had assumed everything was booked but upon following up a week before our tour, we were provided with different choices for wineries and restaurants. On the day of the tour, we went to one place which was fantastic, except the tasting was so long, that we blew through our time for lunch and were late to the second winery. Thankfully the winery we were at had food to go so we were able to eat in the car - which was not ideal. On the second winery, we did a reserve tasting but it was cut short because we had to go to our last winery where we were super disappointed in the wine and that it was even given as an option based on the expectations provided. During the drive, our driver pointed out one or two wineries as some of the best in the region but had required bookings at least 1-2 weeks in advance. We were extremely frustrated by this given we booked several months in advance. The person who set up our tours did a really poor job of managing the day and did not meet our expectations for this tour which was surprising given the reviews.

Response from the operator: Hi Brittany, I am very sorry to hear that your tour of the Hunter Valley was not up to your expectations. Unfortunately I was not available to guide you on that day. I am glad you had a fantastic experience at the first winery. As it was a Saturday I made sure that I booked all your 3 wineries and the lunch venue weeks ahead of time to ensure you would get in on such a busy day and also time of year. Further, I gave you a list of a number of wineries to choose from, and you chose these 3 based on your preferences....you chose the third winery because you indicated you wanted to taste sparkling wines which it is the most famous in the region...So I am sorry that you tried the wines there instead which disappointed you. Note: the wineries' and the restaurants choices never changed as you said above. On such busy days in the Hunter Valley everyone needs to be flexible...and the fact that you went way over time on the first one meant that all the other later bookings were affected. So when the lunch and second winery were shortened, this is because you went overtime initially. I am very sorry our driver said that some other wineries, that we weren't going to, were the best... I do not know why he would said that or why.. and I'll certainly speak to him about that. I was not able to manage your timings when I am not the guide on the day. But once again on such busy days in the Hunter Valley everyone needs to be mindful of the next booked destination's time. Once again I am very sorry that you did not get the experience that you had hoped for, and we have taken on board these issues and certainly will and have made some relevant improvements. I hope you come back and visit Sydney again soon :) Mike

Hunter Valley Wine Tasting Private Tour From Sydney: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Sydney.

How much does Hunter Valley Wine Tasting Private Tour From Sydney cost?

    +

Prices start at $155 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Sydney usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Hunter Valley Wine Tasting Private Tour From Sydney take?

    +

Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Sydney is not rushed.

Is Hunter Valley Wine Tasting Private Tour From Sydney worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 67 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 12 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Sydney, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Hunter Valley Wine Tasting Private Tour From Sydney?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Hunter Valley Wine Tasting Private Tour From Sydney suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 10-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Hunter Valley Wine Tasting Private Tour From Sydney?

    +

Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Sydney can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Sydney and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Hunter Valley Wine Tasting Private Tour From Sydney start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Sydney within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Sydney?

    +

On Outty we rank every Sydney experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include WILD Wombat and Kangaroo Day Tour, All Inclusive, Depart Syd: Blue Mountains Best All Inclusive with Local Guide, Blue Mountain Small Group Tour All Inclusive. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Sydney?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Sydney?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
