    American visiting in August 2026

Overall this was an exceptional experience, I recommended it immediately to two other families we saw on our two-week trip to Australia. We did a private tour (we have a 3-year-old so needed a car seat that they provided). We were picked up promptly around 10 AM, we went to three lookout areas including Fitzroy Falls. Despite intermittent rain the views were exceptional, and better than the Blue Mountains. We then went on to the pie shop, this was a solid experience for my first meat pie. You get to see the New South Wales countryside including the town where Babe was filmed. The wombats and kangaroo sighting in Kangaroo Valley was really impressive, my kids loved it. The wombats are most active at dusk (around 4:30 pm in August) and we got back to our hotel around 8 pm. The day was well organized, our guide Damon was friendly, funny, and welcoming. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone visiting Syndey, it's a nice escape from the city, book early if you want a private tour!

    Wombat and waterfalls

Amazing tour! Our guide Dave had a comfortable van. He attended to all the little details, snacks, water and even phone chargers. He knew the best spots to stop and see the sites. The wombat were amazing to see and we all got great pictures.

    Amazing time

Did the kangaroo and wombat tour with Dave and Karen, and the flying fox tour with Joly. Both tours were incredible, all the guides were so friendly and intelligent. Explain everything well and super easy to talk to. Had an amazing time and would recommend to everyone.

    More than Wombats and Kangaroos!

If you want to see animals in the wild, this is a great way to do it. We saw Lyre birds, wombats, Kangaroos and an Echidna, waterfalls in the National Park. The food was terrific. Our guide, Karen, was very helpful and knowledgeable.

WILD Wombat and Kangaroo Day Tour, All Inclusive: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Sydney.

How much does WILD Wombat and Kangaroo Day Tour, All Inclusive cost?

    +

Prices start at $182 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Sydney usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does WILD Wombat and Kangaroo Day Tour, All Inclusive take?

    +

Plan for about 10.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Sydney is not rushed.

Is WILD Wombat and Kangaroo Day Tour, All Inclusive worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 97 out of 100, which we label "Peak Performance". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 1,223 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Sydney, and how flexible the cancellation terms are. Scoring 90 or above puts it in the Outty 90+ Club, the top tier of everything we rank.

Can I cancel or reschedule WILD Wombat and Kangaroo Day Tour, All Inclusive?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is WILD Wombat and Kangaroo Day Tour, All Inclusive suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 10.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book WILD Wombat and Kangaroo Day Tour, All Inclusive?

    +

Around 428 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Sydney can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Sydney and add a light layer if any part of the 10.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does WILD Wombat and Kangaroo Day Tour, All Inclusive start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Sydney within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Sydney?

    +

On Outty we rank every Sydney experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Depart Syd: Blue Mountains Best All Inclusive with Local Guide, Blue Mountain Small Group Tour All Inclusive, Ultimate Sydney Walking Tour (Small-Group, Drink Included). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Sydney?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Sydney?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
